I’ve had herniated discs in my spine for over 2 years now, and have been living in chronic pain. Andrew opening up the past few episodes about how he overcomes his back pain on a daily basis has been a huge thing keeping me going lately
Same. Ruptured discs at C4/C5 and L5-S1. Fusions in my neck and lower back. 7 spinal surgeries from December 2009 until my most recent this past August. Chronic pain throughout and continues to this day, combined with near daily migraines. Sometimes it’s difficult to tell when the pain is real.
First gen immigrants of war hold in so much pain while trying to make it in America and raise their children. They're strong people. Having someone to talk to would probably help immensely, especially when they're older and retired with nothing but time to think.
Bobby is very lucky to have Andrew. When his jokes fail, andrew just moves right along and acts like nothing happened. Professional and a great friend.

That ending with Bobby trying to get his mum therapy got me real emotional, caught me off guard. I’m in my 30’s and Bobby’s generation and my parents generation, particularly first generation immigrants have some really serious issues and deep seated sadness. My mum really has been through a lot also but my family has been struggling to get her to see someone professionally. There’s definitely a taboo with seeking help for mental health issues in Korea. I really felt Bobby’s yearning to get his mother help, God bless you Bob - you’re a good son. Thanks for reminding me to keep trying.

Santino so well said about the psychological side of pain. I’ve had lower back pain for the better part of the year but have realized that the real injury is healed and I have just created neural pathways that make the pain persist. Meditation has helped me unravel this slowly over time. One year after throwing my back out I am finally nearly pain free!
This was my favorite episode in awhile. Guests and the supporting cast are great but just Bobo and Andrew hits different. Both also genuinely seem to be on cloud 9

I had a similar injury. Yoga & swimming helped me. Even just floating in the pool felt good not to ache for 20 mins.
