      Versace's house is a pretty well known landmark, and Gianni Versace himself is a high-profile person not just a "random man". Which begs the question why Gianni Versace didn't have security guards stationed at his front door?

    • @stylecollective-qt9um

      Hi. As a person who lived during that time in that area, I can tell you personally that the atmosphere of South Beach then was very different than the celebrity obsessed culture that we have now some two decades later. Security guards before that time were simply not needed. At the time, the Versace home was not a landmark. It was just another of the local celebrity homes that existed there, and locals didn't care much about that. To begin with, South Beach was primarily a fashion outpost at the time for the European fashion magazine and advertising industries: so it was common for famous public figures in the fashion industry to be there and feel relaxed as they were for the most part, amongst their own...and the remaining locals were usually connected to the travel and hospitality industries that served or worked in tandem with the fashion community, so they were used to being around the rich and famous, and no one bothered them. South Beach at that time was also very casual, carefree island with a very quirky Shangri-la quality about it. Minor royalty and international stars of all types were able to live there without being bothered, and immerse themselves into daily activities amongst locals without ever being pestered: no one asked for autographs back them. No one approached them for anything. They could have their morning coffee on Ocean Drive in shorts and flip flops (just ad Sr. Versace did nearly every morning at the New Cafe when he wasn't working), they could jog the beach, ask the person sitting next to them for a cigarette or light, chat with their local wait staff or bartended...no. one. cared. The Versace Murder changed the entire atmosphere of the island almost overnight, and from that day forward, stars had to actually start thinking about how they had to move around safely. Before Cunanan (sp?), that wasn't a concern.

      미셜비 also another thing to question did this scumbag watch and wait? Because Versace didn’t normally go out himself in the morning to collect his paper and daily magazines etc... someone who worked for him would always go and get them for him. There’s no way that this evil b**t**d got lucky he just happened to be walking off the beach in front of the Versace house and just saw him coming home that morning. This has to be one if not the biggest fxxk ups regarding a manhunt in American history, and he didn’t even go into hiding after the shooting knowing the police was looking for him, he carried on like normal until that last day when the police got a call from someone who said they think they’ve seen him and then we know what happened after that.

      There are many things the police should have done to stop this, they didn't care untill he killed a celebrity. There was a lot of homophobia in 1997 and might be a reason why the FBI didn't seem to care untill he killed Versace. The FBI once again failed miserably they definitely could of and should of prevented Versace from being murdered! The FBI is a joke they should of easily stopped the Florida school shooting also and numerous other crimes. How stupid are they to put on the radio that the suspect was listening to that they are tracking him on the car phone he had stolen from one of his victims Lee Miglin.

    • @mylesstrickland9956

      Joe Winkler Versace wouldn't of died from HIV he had enough money to buy the medicine to keep the virus dormant like Magic Johnson. Sadly only if you have enough money you are able to do this. You would think that they would want every HIV patient to have this option but unfortunately money is more important then peoples lives.

      I found out he was shot , when I was in my 20s and I happen to be standing in front of his house with photographs not knowing why they were there.
      So when I guy told me about the scene , I looked it up.
      I was there in july so I happen to walk by some sort of remembering him.
      I was 16 when it was killed , so I didn't watch alot of news.

      +Kristina Romano You know only a small percentage, 10-20%, of people who try meth end up having a problem with it. It is a terrible drug that negatively affected my life, but demonizing the drug and acting like anyone who tries it is fucked is not going to help anyone. You would never be able to tell many meth users use meth. Drugs are used by all sorts of people; you just hear about the seriously fucked up one.

    • @marieantoinettescake9513
      @marieantoinettescake9513 6 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      Billsama Bin Clinten You just said it... It's a terrible drug that negatively affected your life, thus ALL the more reason to demonize it. It's a HELL of a drug that ruins people's lives. We don't need to go down the proverbial rabbit hole of hypocrisy and make excuses for it or the people using it, and whether or not we can tell who is, or who isn't using. That's irrelevant. Enough said!!

    • @almostskater3210
      @almostskater3210 6 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      +Kristina Romano *sigh you just don't understand. It's cool I guess. The mentality you have is partially the cause of the drug epidemic. By lying to people about the dangers, over-exaggerating them, you cause people to be distrustful of how dangerous they can be. Ya I had massive problems. But I know 10+ people who tried meth 1-5 times and never touched it again. Meth is even prescribed as Desoxyn.

    "Almost immediately, the investigators put together the pieces". They soooo didn't ; if you read Mareen Orth's extensive work about it, from which the upcoming series of American Crime Story is based on, "solving" this case was everything but immediate ; actually it's an excellent example of how terrible communication between the different law enforcement bodies at the time was. Never in hell would it have taken 2 months and a half for the guy to be actually be found otherwise.

      Yep, you hit it right on the money my man. It's called revisionism. Hell the Minneapolis PD refused to clear David Madson of murder until 1998 and still looked at him as the main suspect despite finding Jeff Trail's gun with Andrew Cunanan in Miami. I remember reading the book and reading the part where all four jurisdictions were fighting over who was going to try Cunanan first, and I thought to myself, even thought I knew how it ended, guys..... catch him first and then fight over who will get to try him first. A lot of this investigation was marred by the outcome of the OJ trial as well.

One other problem with Cunanan was that there really wasn't a lot of info about him before he was wanted by the FBI. He didn't have a criminal record. Morgan Mackay I think he killed him out of jealousy and entitlement… I think that Andrew thought that just by being wanted sexually by these powerful man that it would guarantee him a life of luxury without any accountability whatsoever… I think he wore out his welcome with everyone he came across and for that, he became furious and felt that they owed him... he didn’t get what he believed he was entitled to so he didn’t want them to have happiness either. It was all about control. I could see him maybe having one sexual encounter with Versace and his partner- as they were known to entertain male prostitutes on a regular basis... and Andrew thinking it would be his big break.

    I found out he was shot , when I was in my early 20s and I happen to be standing in front of his house with photographs not knowing why they were there and I didn't know who's house I happen to be standing in front of.
    So when I guy told me about the scene , I looked it up.
    I was there in july so I happen to walk by some sort of remembering him. When I left that spot i felt a strange presence around me.
    I was there for spring break and south beach was the spot for night life.
    I knew the name Versace but not how the man looked like.
    I was 16 when it was killed , so I didn't watch alot of news.

      That is not true, it was a theory the FBI had that was thrown out when they did blood tests on him.he didn't have aids, he was a narcissist, arrogant liar who thought he was entitled to everything and anything. His love was completely selfish as in how he refused to believe the other doomed party didn't feel the same way as he did. He just couldn't reconcile the fact that madson did not feel the same way. Quote from the movie that sums him up perfectly " what a volatile mix you are! Too lazy to work and too proud to be kept"

    • @christopherwolf8375
      @christopherwolf8375 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      My take on it is Versace saw the side controlling him to do something that was not what he liked as he was wealthy, successful and liked. He told them no. They got this guy to kill him and was told he would get paid. After the hit he was given instruction on where to hide and then the law was directed by the solicitors as to his location. They then "communicated" to the hit man that his services were no longer needed and tricked him into consuming a beverage that knocked him out and they then put the gun in his hand and then into his mouth and then pulled the trigger. Convenient patsy to a hit no one would be the wiser. Very simple. A hit for a man standing up. If your gonna stand make sure you have a solid plan of defense and attack because your gonna need it. With so many complicit knowing and so many unwitting accomplices in cover up. One must ask. Is this an occult of members who secretly plot amongst members to kill those who they fear exposing what actually causes things to happen and the truth of why it happened. This we may never know. What we do know however is that there is ample evidence that suggests my suggestion of opinion just might be accurate sadly.

    Andrew Cunanan (pronounced Andu Killagain) is like Bundy and Dahmer - every photo of him looks like a different person. It's supposed to mean that they are a vessel for other people or spirits that are able to inhabit them. Dahmer even killed someone while asleep and never remembered it the next day - and that set off a 15-victim killing spree over the ensuing 44 months (Nov 87 - Jul 91). Bundy talked about becoming another person during the killings - that his brain was "compartmentalised". My guess is that eventually, an evil spirit finds its way into their minds kind of "Being John Malkovich" style (one of the most profound movies ever made) and can never be exorcised thereafter. Dahmer talked about thoughts that "are very powerful, and they do not leave". They're in control of something beyond their comprehension or capacity to overcome. I think this is the only reason they get possessed in the first place (which very clearly happens in childhood) - they do not develop the capacity to repel that invader, to have an identity that is counter to it. They are blank slates as children, and so the easiest prey for evil demons trying to attain human form. I believe Adolf Hitler was another of these children - he was massively rocked to the core when his mother died when he was 11 or 12 - much of his later personality seems to have sprung from that event. His mother's elderly doctor Bloch at the time of her death said he had never seen someone so affected by the death of a parent as young Adolf.
