Ripclaw also reminds me of Lady Yuriko another inspired by Wolverine. It’s funny how popular he became out of the Cyberforce just like Wolverine with the X-men.

I don't think the Wildcats are considered a "Rip off".....Jim Lee's artwork and designs literally helped X-Men in the mainstream...once Jim Lee stopped drawing 4 Marvel fans wanted more of his art and sought to go to Image...big difference

When it comes to comics, Marc Silvestri & Jim Lee changed the game, especially when it comes to the X-Men. The original Inferno saga from '88/’89 1st showcased the talents of Silvestri, then straight outta the Punisher series Mr Lee attacked the X-Men w/a style people hadn't seen before. There's clarity and crispness were understand of. Lee's attention to detail highlighted many things people just took for granted, simple things like gun clips, ammo pouches weren't just clips, sword sheathes etc, everything was treated as important as the characters and the stories themselves. Jim is my favorite comic artist all-time, and the tandem efforts of Lee & Williams are the one-two punch in comics that just can't be beat. Silvestri is in my Top 10 as well, along w/David Finch, Alex Ross & others. Bottom line is that Jim Lee made the X-Men what they are today

As I've seen others mention here, Jim Lee for instance, did X-team art then went on to create his own "mutant" team for Image/Wildstorm. The iconic early 90s comics suits that everyone associates when they hear "X-Men" went on to be the ones they wore in the classic animated series we watched religiously every Saturday morning and were Lee's designs. Once he went on to create his own original characters, well...

Many young comic fans won't know this bit of history so let me share: in the 90s both DC and marvels art had gotten stale and outdated. The best artists of the day, for various reasons, started image comics and instantly had our attention. Literally everything they drew blew both DC and marvel out of the water. There was a couple months where DC and marvel has the image team do some covers and of course sale sky rocketed. A good example is Batman vs spawn, DC was trash, image was on point, and everyone knew it. There was no contest. Image had the best artists in the Industry without question. Because of this image comics revolutionized the art whole sale across the industry.

Batang X, roughly translated as X children, is one of the biggest rip off of the XMen in my opinion. It's Philippine movie made in '95 i think, made right after the success of the XMen cartoons. The story is about some superhuman kids, an alien who wants to kidnap them to harness their powers to power her spaceship, and a version of Professor X, who helps the kids learn to use their powers. It doesn't end there, another movie about another team inspired by the Xmen as well, Batang Z, came out a year later.

I think that Ripclaw is definitely an X-Men Knockoff of Wolverine and Allison is is definitely an X-Men Knockoff of Jean Grey and Psylocke.

Early Image comics was all just knockoff characters. They even had knockoffs of knockoffs. Cyberforce had a few interesting characters but that was it.
