I will say that I had perfect score. I not only have never heard of any of them, but I didn’t see a single actor that I recognized. In my defense though, I am an American and spent most of the 60's and 70's doing US Navy things.
You can't wack the seventies comedies. Brilliant...Outstanding....very funny........when you could have a good loff and folk not telling you thats wrong to loff at....😤🙆♂️🇬🇧👍.

Classic 70s Situation Comedy 🎭 Quiz: 29/30!!! Brilliant!! 😃My highest score yet!! Only one I had never heard of: “Lucky Feller”? Starring David Jason, I thought it might be “A Sharp in take of Breath”! Another forgotten situation comedy. Patrick Cargill of “Father Dear Father” also starred in another forgotten comedy series: “Many wives of Patrick.” Another interesting Quiz. 🤔
26 : I did get lucky fella as Gold ran it fairly recently along with A sharp intake of Breath, which was an early David Jason sitcom. I recorded them both on my tv box.
these were shows from the UK we got some of these in Canada not all. I liked the ones we got very much especially "on the busses". We had more US sitcoms and some of our own as well.
My first reaction was that I don't know 30 70s sitcoms. Well I got 25/30. I never knew I Never Knew You Cared, missed Father Dear Father, said Robin's Nest for Man About the House and didn't know Two's Company or Lucky Feller (I went for A Sharp Intake of Breath for that one).
Great quiz, full .marks!! Very satisfying, I nearly didn't get Love Thy Neighbour, then as the clock counted down and got to 2, it came to me. So I'm claiming a win on that one!!!
It'd be bloody great!!! A great right hander in the eyes of the wokes, snowflakes and lefties!!! I'd bring them all back, tv is cr*p these days, back then, the ads were better and more entertaining than most of today's actual programmes!!!
The thing about that show is the black couple always came out on top and showed how much of an idiot the Jack Smethurst character (don't remember his name) was. Thinking of being on top, I wouldn't have minded being on top of Nina Baden Semper!
The only two I got were Fawlty Towers ( I'm a huge fan of Monty Python) and Are You Being Served, which I ran into years ago. Shame that Open All Hours wasn't on here...or was that an 80s show?
@@stuviewtv I thought that was a 70's thing. Have you ever seen The Colour of Magic? Every time Rincewind walks on screen I can't help but hear "Granville, fetch your cloth!".
I've heard of it and seen it . It was dire, but so were most of his early series! Frankly, I dont rate OFAH ( poor man's Minder!). Jason is a very good actor, though, in dramatic roles. His Frost was excellent, and he is always great as cantankerous old men. Id say his best comedy performance is as the old lag in Porridge !
23, not bad for someone who was only just born in the 70's. 6 I had never seen before and I mixed up The Fall and Rise of Reginald Perrin with The Rise and Fall of Reginald Perrin and decided to be tough on myself.
There were about 2 that I knew the answers to but couldn't remember at the time until the answer came on namely "The Lovers" and "The Fosters" but there were a couple I'd never heard of "Lucky Feller" and "Two's Company"
I'm pretty disappointed. I only recognized: Faulty Towers, The Good Life, Are you being served?, Sykes, Dad's Army and Two's Company. But... Well.. 1. I'm not British. I discovered those shows on TH-cam during the last 10 years. 2. the ones I did recognize, are my all time favourites. I've watched them all at least 4 times.
The one I got wrong was David Jason in 'Lucky Feller... I'd never heard of that show before.. OK, just looked at some of the comments.....no-one knew Lucky Feller :)
Out of 30 I dropped 3 alas. I knew them just couldn't recall the titles. It's not old age, or poverty it's drinking out of wet glasses! Let that be a lesson to you all!
I remembered The Lovers and even bought the series on DVD but it doesn't stand up. It is pretty cringeworthy. I thought I liked it at the time but it shows how times change. Paula Wilcox and Richard Beckinsale are both excellent actors but the scripts are really terrible.
26/30 A couple I couldn't remember the names of, (Father Dear Father and I Didn't Know You Cared), and the other 2 I'd never heard of, (The Fosters and Lucky Feller.)
27 out of 30. Couldn't remember Reginald Perrin, couldn't think of the early David Jason and said The Likely Lads and not its full title! Not bad though.
Hah! Either I didn't know them or I didn't like them! Except maybe Alf Garnett and Frankie Howerd. Dad's Army I just thought all old people were like Capt. Mainwaring! Now I'm an old people!🤣
Not to me to be honest. I've never seen the programme and at least two of the actors in the pic ARE in Desmonds. Thanks for the info though! By the way, was it any good?
@@PercyPruneMHDOIFandBars It was OK but clearly American in origin as a British remake of the American Good Times series. It was probably the reason that Desmond's got commissioned.
If I had a magic wand, I would turn back the clock to the 70's and 80's sitcoms as can't beat any of these classics compared to the rubbish they bring out today without offending certain people, The good sense of humor seems these day in 2022 and now in 2023 gone to pot like most things on TV , Kid of this era don't know what they are missing out on, And one that surly you would have put on is Only when I laugh,
I thought I would do really well on this but honestly I didn't I reckon I got 60% the others were all on the tip of my tongue so to speak, as soon as the name was revealed I was like O yea
Sick of people slagging off the the 70s .We have no comedy now because of political correctness . But yet you put naked women and men on channel 4 .Who's sick
only missed lucky fella and get some in. the best era for comedy back when things were aloud to be funny, if the snowflakes today watched these shows they would have a melt down
Back when humour wasn't a crime. I have no time for racism but equally none for ridiculous political correctness where people try to solve problems no one had in the first place. Today's "woke" crowd simply don't understand this. In It "Ain't 'alf Hot Mum", the butt of the jokes was Battery Sergeant Major Williams, portrayed by Windsor Davies. Specifically his homophobic and racist ways.
The good old days for sure

Amazing…… I never saw any of them…… must be because I grew up in the 50s and 60s…. in the United States!

Great score Alison! Nearly a full house!
I'd a gut feeling that I'd get 30/30 here....I was wrong (28/30).....most of these couldn't be made nowadays....thank goodness it was the 70s...😀

Great score and thanks for the kind comments!
I got 28/30... never saw The Fosters or Lucky Fella back in the day. Remember laughing at all the rest as a kid though but geez I feel very old now 😒

There was a goodly swathe of them I had never heard of. I hardly call the ones I didn't know classics because we never talked about them at school

I didn't know you cared is one of my favourite sitcoms , I managed to get the box set as it's never been repeated in Britain.
Lucky Feller and I Didn't Know You Cared tripped me up.
Never knew any of these Brit shows existed except the Good Life which I remember watching as a little kid on American PBS.

Stan's mum from on the buses came from park road in bargoed s Wales
In the earlier episodes of 'On The Buses' Stan's mother was played by Cicely Courtneidge, but in later episodes she was played by Doris Hare.

26/30 A couple I couldn't remember the names of, (Father Dear Father and I Didn't Know You Cared), and the other 2 I'd never heard of, (The Fosters and Lucky Feller.)
The Fosters was the show that was Lenny Henry's vehicle to follow on from winning New Faces but Norman Beaton was really the star.
Twenty five and a half, took a half point off for not remembering the full title on Selwyn Froggit
Bah! Didn't get father dear father the two of us and the fosters. ..off to sulk now. ..lol...best wishes and take care
