Hello there! You may be attempting to configure a first generation NMC (AP9617/AP9618/AP9619) which does indeed use a 2400bps serial connection when installed within a UPS. Read more about configuration of these cards in our FAQ: www.apc.com/us/en/faqs/FA156064/
