Great, you got the new model to test. I chose to get the original version, I got it 2 days ago. and it's updated over your original, mine came with the window and the screen . I'm not a boat owner, so when you buy a gas tank, I got the fittings for a yamaha boat motor. Apparently there are 3 different sizes.
Well, it figures that I recently bought one of these fuel pumps and now they come with adapters that probably would let me use the pump with my other generators instead of just my GD400BN Pulsar. My pump is labeled GMEFP FUEL PUMP but it doesn't say PLUS like the one you show in the video. Now I wish I'd waited to get one. Thanks for another informative video!
I bet you could. It only needs a 12v source so throw the plug in there. Cut the wires and add some clips or anything really. You could wire a 12v socket or even a Anderson pigtail
I tried it, does not work. Predator 12v port is unregulated and jumps from 10v to 19v depending on engine rpm. You'll need a regulated 12v source with more than 10 amps to start the pump. I even modded the predators 12v power with a regulated powersupply that outputa 10.2 amps and it fails to start. When I hook it up to a 12v 14amp power supply, it works just fine.

The pumps are different as mentioned. One for the small and one for the larger units. They are not universal

Can it fill while the genny is running
If it has a power source it will work, I’ve used mine while I sleep but it started leaking after a few uses it was their first model.
What happens when the external fuel tank is empty? Does the pump keep running or does it detect there is no more fuel to pump and shut off?
It's supposed to stop and give a flashing error code. I haven't tested that feature yet on mine.
Yup it shuts off after about 10 seconds of no fuel. Then you have to manually reset it
