Day Six - the finale
This year's exhibition came to an end with a private session for the volunteers to have a couple of hours to run their own trains on the layout.
We saw a variety of stock. Ryan's Network South East DMUs, Chris's APT-E, and a few steam trains, including one called a Kettle.
For me, one of the things I wanted to try was the Avanti 807, which is expected to be done at the next event(s). For most viewers, you will know that the recently arrived Avanti West Coast Class 805s have a twin, called the 807.
Twin is an electric only seven car set of which there are ten sets ordered and several 807001, 002 and 003 already buzzing about on the southern sections of the WCML, that being south of Liverpool but are being moved down from the north east via Carstairs so enthusiasts as far as Carlisle and slightly further north may also see them from time to time.
