Today I learned Bisaya from ‪@ayaballadares‬ and it was so fun! LOL Bisaya seemed to be very similar to Spanish and Malay language, and is it just my feeling..?! The curse words were a different level as well hahaha Thanks for teaching me those. What should I try next time?!

오마이갓!! ㅋ앜ㅋㅋ 보면서 계속 웃고있었어요 ㅋㅋㅋㅋ we should make another video like this 😂😂 I had so much fun and thank you for featuring me 언니~ ❤️
P.S. After reading some comments I realized that I made a mistake by telling her that we count numbers like the Spanish language. Because I do know that in Bisaya it’s “usa, duha, tulo..” I used the wrong term to state my thoughts. So my point is that it sounds the same in Spanish when we say our age. Like in the video, I’m 20 right so I say that I’m bente anyos. Just wanted to clarify that lang po! My apologies that my Bisaya isn’t perfect. I only lived for about 2 years in Mindanao and although I did some research before teaching her some stuff, but I guess I’m still confused.😅 Though I hope you enjoyed it. Thank you for watching!

Bisaya is one of the Dialect not a language. The language is Pilipino. Tagalog is just one of the dialect.

    • @davetabuyan2172
      @davetabuyan2172 ปีที่แล้ว +7

@@fredbigornia1814 what? Do you know what dialects mean?
Dialect is a smaller variation of a certain language group.
But that depends on the context. We can say Cebuano is a dialect if we link it to a bigger Language group called Visayan Language or Bisaya. Hence, Cebuano is a dialect of Visayan Language because most of the Visayan Languages such as Waray, Cebuano and Hiligaynon are mostly similar.
However, if we are talking about Tagalog and Cebuano, then, we can use the term Language because Tagalog and Cebuano are no way similar. They have different syntax, morphology, and word/phrase/sentence constructions. Therefore, Cebuano is a language of its own.
What I am trying to say it, matatawag lamang na dialect ang isang Language if we link it to a bigger language group.
Another example is, Sugboaño Cebuano, Boholano Cebuano, Davaeño Cebuano, Leyteño Cebuano are dialect of Cebuano itself. They maybe belong to the same Cebuano group of Language but they many things used differently. They differ sometimes in phonetics such as Maayo vs Maajo, balay vs bay vs bayay and many more.
On a bigger picture, all filipino Languages belong to a bigger Language group called Austronesian Languages along with Bahasa Indonesia, Malay, and so on. Hence, Tagalog, Cebuano, Bahasa Indonesia, Malay are dialects of Autronesian Language.

Always a positive vibes and funny videos. Glad to see Aya again in your video. Sylvia is a good linguist. She can easily pick-up and connect its meaning quickly (sometimes😂😂) . Your pretty friend Hanna Coreana should be able to quickly pick-up our languages because there are words that are the same or similar to Spanish. You should bring her to the Philippines next time you visit. Bisaya language has many dialects like Cebuano, Hiligaynon, Waray-Waray and more to name a few. Some words are also similar to Indonesian and Malaysian Language. That's probably why you thought it sounded like Malaysian.

Bisaya counting numbers does not sound like Spanish, its usa, duha, tulu, upat, lima, unum, pitu, walu, siyam .. :) and don't teach her bad words, pisti is (pest)yawa(demon) is a very bad word. before spaniards came to Philippines , bisaya is already established, Chavacano is more like the dialect that came from Spanish, Bisaya may have barrowed a few words from Spanish but never really Spanish. it is better you learn the good words of Bisaya not the curse ones. Also, there are many other languages or dialects down south, like maranao, yakan, siama, tausug, malayu, and chavacano all of these except chavacano are languages well established before colonization. :D

You are correct about filipino languages having malay similarities because malay and filipino are in austronesian language family

It's nice seeing u learn bisaya...much easier than tagalog isn't it??? But I just want to remind that not the entire Visayas speaks it...there is still hiligaynon, waray and karay a ...btw there are words in bisaya that means bad or cuss words in hiligaynon or in waray...so just b careful in case u encounter other visayans

Good to know you referred to "Bisaya" as a language and not a dialect. Good job.

thanks for this lol, I wanted to learn a little bit of Bisaya, im half kapampangan and half Bisaya but never learned bisaya. I think its such a funny and cute language. When I went to Mindanao 3 years ago it sounded more funny sounding expressions when they say words. 😂

As a Filipino who grew up on the Philippines alone learned 3 languages, Ilocano as my hometown language, tagalog is my second language then english, also I am trying to learn Korean now at the moment so good luck to me haha. 💯
(Edit): What I am studying at the moment are Korean consonants and vowels alphabets and somewhat tryna learn basic greetings like "Annyeonghaseyo, Jeoneun Kevin-imnida. bangawo" something like that haha.

Pansin ko dito samin pagtinanong yung age and number ng tao ginagamit yung language(hiligaynon) pero hanggang 1-10 lng tapos spanish numerals na yung ginagamit and kapag usapang pera namn spanish numerals din yung ginagamit.
