Did she though? A couple years out and Arie and Lauren are married with a beautiful baby girl and seemingly really happy. Meanwhile Becca is engaged to a guy she keeps having to try to defend for his racist and sexist social media posts. Clearly Becca wasn't right for Arie, but Arie actually seems like a good guy.
And if you can't understand how people propose to the wrong person then I assume you've never watched The Bachelor before? They've had 24 season and only one guy has proposed to the right girl, Sean Lowe. Two have at least gotten close. Jason and Arie both were only one person off from the right girl and realized who the right girl was within a few months. And Arie realized it even before Jason did. So technically, Arie is the second closest to proposing to the right person in 24 seasons of the Bachelor and yet you're all acting like he's the worst ever.
They match well. Both are spoiled rich kids. Rich brats just flock together.

I too thought that he really liked the fact that she came from a wealthy family. Not because he needs their money but because he just respects them more for having it.
