im pretty sure kanae died when shinjuro was still hashira and shinobu at 14 years old (4 years b4 the meeting) cuz kyojuro had been hashira for 3 years so then shinjuro wouldnt be hashira anymore, and obanai turned into a hashira when muichiro was still in training and mitsuri has only been a hashira for a year, this would technically also mean there had been 8 hashira b4 her promotion to hashira

Well no. Mitsuri has been a hashira for about a year now (anime) and Kanae died at 19, Shinobi was like 15? Maybe 16. Now Shinobi is 18, and Mitsuri is 19.
