Can you explain why a lot of Catapillar owners install Holset HX82 or higher on their caterpillar engines why do they choose that turbo lately I’ve been seeing a whole bunch of people use that turbo why is that what’s so special about that turbo
I've only ever really seen an HX82 used as the low pressure turbo in a compound setup on a Caterpillar. I can't really say why this is the case, because I don't have a ton of experience with custom compound setups - but I'd imagine it has something to do with the high flow capacity of that charger.
A ball bearing S410SX at a fair price would be awesome! I think we are going to see more ball bearing stuff come out in the future, but I think it will more be in the name of efficiency then performance. Cat started putting ball bearing turbos into their on road offering just 2 years before leaving the market (they were Garrett GT based for the SDP and LEE C15 & C13). Some companies are struggling with ball bearing in the commercial market segment, but I absolutely believe it can be done!
Great overview. Would not have expected such large differences given the naming. BW turbos kick ass though.
Man I lov these videos!! Such awesome info so you actually know the right turbo to run.. 👍🏼👍🏼
AGREED! Love this channel
I’d love to see a video on the super 76 Detroit turbo you offer. Maybe list what supporting mods should be ran with it.
Its coming :)
great video. I think the SXE series have upgraded bearings compared to regular s400 series.

I’m glad
Are PAI turbos are good turbo?
Too bad you can't get the SX 410 with Ball Bearings :/ The wider frame should be highly durable for the bearings
