I vote with Little Bear on this being the exception to this trail being the only tired and I don't even know the inside joke. Keep the hard work and humble attitude you got this happy hiking
I admire both of your determination, strength and teamwork! So glad you got some kitty cat therapy Little Bear! 😻 I continue to pray for your safe journey together!🙏🙏♥️♥️
I'm a new mom and have been watching your videos during my postpartum healing. I hiked the trail in 2021 and miss it a lot right now. My 6 week old daughter is sleeping on me right now and I am so excited to have an experience on trail with her like you and Little Bear are having ❤️ thank you for sharing your journey. It's really a light in my days. - Misdirection
Hey! Congratulations on your sweet baby girl! 💕 And congrats on your hike in 2021! Thank you for being here and being a part of our journey. It will be great when you and your daughter get to hike together. Love and light to you. 💙☀️🙏🏼
That tree that Little Bear was hanging on like a sloth... umm, there is a good chance that furry rope on it was poison ivy. I would make sure she scrubs her face and hands well. Loving your adventure!
Thanks! Yeah, a few others have commented the same. Thank you. We didn’t see it. I’m not sure if it was or if she just didn’t have a reaction to it because she was ok. Thanks for your comment though. We’ll be on the lookout. 😊
I'm glad she's not reacted to it. I don't react too badly from poison ivy, but my husband breaks out so bad he usually ends up having to get steriod shots.
This vlog was just what I needed after digging out of a Maine Nor'easter. Best privy walk evah! 🌄 My heart melted when LB got to hug the cats. 😊 I hope the bears get a full night's sleep. Take care and rest well ✌️
Keep it up - you are doing great. Just remember this little song when you get discouraged : One step at a time, only one step at a time. That is the way the Lord will lead you - one step at a time. Take that one step carefully - take that one step prayerfully. That is the way to victory - one step at a time. Aubrey Gaines, New Brunswick, Canada
That sunrise was beautiful! That hostel did look like a good place to land for someone. No apologies for getting to bed early, your body was telling you what it needed. You are doing awesome! Happy trails!
The day may have been difficult but a difficult day on trail is better than a difficult day at home, except that a difficult day at home is always with family 🙏🥾🥾🥾
Hi Bears. Ya'll looked tired today. Glad you were able to go to sleep early. I am a little concerned to see you eating in your tent. Not entirely sure that is safe. It makes your tent smell like food. Nuff said, just concerned. Ya'll are doing great. Loved your interaction with the kitties at the Hostel. I would have joined you had I been there. Take care. Stay safe. See you tomorrow.
That's a good point about eating or having food in your tent. GA bears are still a little wilder than NC /TN bears but definitely separate the food from the tent. Black bears believe in sharing which means your food is their food. The area you're about to enter (Nantahala) has a LOT of bears. At Standing Indian, they'll walk right through the camping area.
Good morning and good day Mama Bear and Little Bear! Mile's! Smile's! Your both doing very well! May there only be fair weather and good people on your adventure!! 😺
You are doing great, so much fun watching your adventure it reminds us of our 2019 hike, you are staying at many of the same campsites. Our paces are about the same.
@wildflowersadventures It's without question the hardest thing I have ever done, but it's easier than quitting would be. No injuries or soreness. I made it to Franklin North Carolina
... Nice hostel ... Wow ,, a beautiful morning sunrise ... Good rest is SO important on trail ,, sleep well ... Soon you will be adding miles to the day ... Careful with the food smells in the tent ,, AT has plenty of Bears all along the trail .... Stay Safe and God Bless ...
Please keep on the lookout for a thru hiker trail name "Lazyboy" . I just found out today he is my good friends nephew. He may be just ahead of you like 2 weeks in . He isn't vlogging and Id love to get a pic of him so my friend can log on here and see him. She is also gonna have him look for you two! Happy Trails!! Her and I both have this on our wish list and I had no idea she wanted to go.😮

So spectacular You’re the best ❤ & your training makes the difference
Hi, love tour channel, look forward to watching each morning! I have a question, if LB decides she doesn't want to finish the hike to Katahdin, will mum continue the thru-hike by herself? Keep up the great work guys!!
Hi there! Thank you. Although we’ve had this conversation, we wouldn’t really know unless it actually happened. Our initial thoughts are yes, I would continue…because after all, we are doing this together, but it is our own journey. But, who knows? It’s not something we’re thinking about.
Some days there is just no other word that fits the situation 🤣 When your body says “I’m tired” I hope you both can get the rest it needs to stay strong on your adventure 🙏 I can’t even begin to imagine how hard it is to climb those mountains 💕💕 you both are always in my thoughts and prayers 🙏 🥰
Hahaha, yes, you’re so right! And we were tired! At our gym back home, the motto is “Never Tired!” I was just joking with her. She’s usually the one who jumps on me when I say it. 😂
Y’all are doing great & it warms my heart to see LB hugging the cats. Glad to see you camping out & skipping the hostel. I’d think it’s too easy to get use to hostel life & likely I’ll do it too much.
Thanks! We enjoy the hostels, but also love being out on trail just as much. It’s definitely a balance for us. Sometimes it’s necessary for a shower, resupply, washing clothes, better connection to talk to family, weather, or my work (I’m a therapist and doing telehealth therapy whilst on trail, too.). We’re around people platinum blazing and it works out well for them, too. It’s not something we’d want to do, but it’s all about doing what works for you and being fluid in meeting those needs.
Oh no ... watch leaning on trees - that furry vine on the side of the tree where Little Bear was channeling her inner sloth is poison ivy!! Be sure to wash with something like Dawn dish detergent or something to remove the oils.
How much foes little bears pack weigh? Just curious if it compares to adults pack weight for them? If that makes sense? I'm not a back packer so was wondering.
Hostel Around the Bend is Awesome. Warns my heart to see Little Bear loving the furry babies... Love and Like. FYI, I am currently at mile 414 heading to Boots Off in the am
Loving the videos ❤ Can I ask what you are wearing for headphones? Are you likening them? I probably saw you show them in the gear videos but didn't catch it.
I think they are just taking it a day at a time with no schedule. Obviously they will have to pick up the pace or do a flip-flop hike to avoid the bad weather up north this fall. It will be interesting to watch!
Nice job on yall limiting the Zero days. With the late start you can't afford to take too many. I think you will make it if you keep putting out double digits days.
Mid March isn’t a late start. And we have an intentional plan to do low miles with rest days for the first 2.5-3 weeks before we consistently do double digit miles. It’s important we let our bodies acclimate to these new stressors/routine. We’re in this for the long haul. 2,200 is a long way from the first 100 or so. Thanks for being here!
@@wildflowersadventures I know you have planned and trained for years for this and know what has to be done. Just remember if you average 10 miles a day without and zeros that's 220 days. That's 7 months. Just trying to help. I want you succeed.

Yeah. Some hikers use their food bag for a pillow. Wait until they start seeing bears around shelters, then hang their food. Raiding food bags is a learned behavior, and very few bears do it. Most are terrified of people, with good reason. A crowd can run a bear off. That said, they kill more people than grizzlies and love doing it.
Plum Orchard shelter has a really good water source. I really slept well at the shelter.
It’s a great spot!
Little Bear could make a 'Cats of the Appalachian Trail' calendar. So glad you are enjoying your journey. Hope you have many, happy trails ahead.
Thank you! And that’s a cute idea! I’ll share it with her. 😊
