It’d be hilarious if Bolsa, acting on Eladio’s orders, had had Hector and Gus wear dunce caps and go sit in separate corners in the nursing home’s “playroom”.
The funny thing is that because Hector just couldnt help but be smug, he totally gave Lalo's game away and is indirectly a reason that Lalo failed and died. If he had just played along and not let his ego and hatred get the best of him, Gus would have been unaware the entire time and Lalo would have blitzed him.
If the Salamanca's were half as smart as Gus, they would've earned more than Gus and been treated better by the cartel. As Eladio indicated in episode 9, it's about keeping the money flowing. Even here, Hector let his hate and arrogance overtake him and gave away Lalo to Gus.

He almost got Gus and could have incapacitated him right in the lab if not for Salamanca's blinding arrogance and pride. I didn't realise that. I wondered how Gus knew Lalo was still alive from that handshake....but on seeing it again, Hector has a bit of a smirk on his face as he shakes his hand.
Gus knew lalo was alive because he received news that all his assassins were dead, yet was told the assassination was ostensibly a success. He comments this in an episode.
It’s actually hilarious. Hector asked Mike back in season 2 how he lasted this long with a big mouth, yet here Hector doesn’t say a word yet gives Lalo away, ruining his element of surprise.

I've been watching Breaking Bad again. Seeing Saul having conversations with Walt and Jesse feels like watching a major crossover between two legendary shows. BCS Jimmy has surpassed his presence compared to BrBa Saul.

To console somebody for a loss is usually a situation where good guys are in movies and tv series. And in BCS the villains are in this situation, with Bolsa trying to be as sincere and compassionate as possible when speaking to Hector. It's interesting how, by using wicked characters, this scene has a dark and ironic undertone.
I like how this scene implyies that hector would be better off with a talking alphabet keyboard, but without it, we could never get Don Eladio doing the ding din ding scene so no go

This was the first time he had to work 24/7 around the clock for his boss to keep him safe and to get the whereabouts of Lalo. That’s why he told Walter in BB that he hadn’t slept for days and that he liked his sleep. I’d imagine he lost some of his focus from this being his first time being Gus’s button man.

Hectors look was not what killed Lalo. Lalos own ipride and ego it was What killed him. He could’ve easily taken Gus out when he had the chance, he had him captured and dead to rights but instead chose to gloat like an arrogant idiot . Even with Gus being onto him, he was still able to trick his crew, including Mike, and gain the upper hand. He was just too arrogant to claim immediate victory and wanted boasting rights which ultimately cost him his life.
Lalo could have won if Hector haven't given him away. Gus and Mike would have been taken completely off guard. Pride and wrath are the main sins of the Salamanca Family.

Hector's biggest mistake. If he didn't reveal Lalo was alive, Lalo would've been able to take out Gus without Gus knowing he was still around to get him and hence be prepared.

Hectors look was not what killed Lalo. Lalos own ipride and ego it was What killed him. He could’ve easily taken Gus out when he had the chance, he had him captured and dead to rights but instead chose to gloat like an arrogant idiot .
Even with Gus being onto him, he was still able to trick his crew, including Mike, and gain the upper hand. He was just too arrogant to claim immediate victory and wanted boasting rights which ultimately cost him his life.

Tbf Gustavo already kinda SUSpected Lalo was still alive but Hector's wrathful pride confirms to Gustavo that Lalo was alive
Spanish is my first lenguage still I had to read the english subtitles to understand Gus, but doesn't matter, great character.
In my head canon, Lalo is still out there... building a perfect case against Gus... and then sees he's dead and simply moves on.
Props to Hector - he could have avoided that whole show. But since he is not a coward and wanted to tell Gus in the best way possible “Beware it’s on” 🙂
And this is why Hector refuses to look at Gus in Breaking Bad. He looks at Gus here and he ends up revealing that Lalo is still alive.

Hector's biggest mistake. If he didn't reveal Lalo was alive, Lalo would've been able to take out Gus without Gus knowing he was still around to get him and hence be prepared.
