@Rachel Perrone She has become my favourite mermaid princess too. I agree with you, such a pity that she wasn't in the 2nd season. I could "feel" Sara, she was a mature and charming young woman, with a strong sense of duty and full of sorrow. Surely, the show would be more interesting with her in it~

What always gets to me about this version of the song is how deep and soulful it is. If the blend of sorrow and hope in Sara’s voice doesn’t touch your heart, then you don’t have one.
The beauty in this song, for me, mainly is the fact that you can't forget it and that the song itself and the singer of this states kinda the same thing.

The Anime needs a remake where they focus a bit more on the other Mermaids that aren't a central Focus throughout the Show. As mean as it sounds but. Coco and Noel were only there so they had 7 Mermaids shown, they did very little when they were free and didn't ever get a Solo Version of any of the All-Mermaid Songs nor did they ever get an own Song. Karen got an own Song, but there never was a release of her Version of Legend of Mermaid either. Meanwhile Sara gets her own special rendition of Legend of Mermaid and an own Song. Seira gets two own songs and technically she also sings the Pure-Opening (Not complaining, Eri Kitamura and Kana Ueda are two of my favourite Voice Actresses and Return to the Sea, Beautiful Wish and Before the Moment are my Top 3 Mermaid Melody Songs.) Still would love a Remake of Mermaid Melody, where they maybe iron out some Animation Flaws present in the Original and maybe adjust the Story to give a reason for Noel and Coco to exist. Also release a Song Collection where every Mermaid gets their Solo-Versions of the Song. Altho i guess the VAs would change.... Some sadly passed away since or stopped working as Voice Actors :(
I used to watch the whole show as a kid but forgot all the plots, as I sit by listening to this song feeling blue. The whole depression just seems so out of blue to me, so I spoiled myself on Wikipedia just to find out this song certainly is supposed to get me downhearted.

At first my fave singer was Lucia, and when i heard Sara sing, i started liking her way more. I think her voice is so beautiful and soft
