Next-gen IC can help curb identity theft, misuse and data leaks, Dewan Rakyat told

The upgraded identity card is in its final phase of development and will replace the version used since 2012, says Deputy Home Minister Datuk Seri Shamsul Anuar Nasarah.

The Thing we want is we want a system does not need to key in our IC number every government portal we enter and the number of Identity card should only shared with people we meet face to face. A new card with the same crappy system not going to stop any data theft. As most the Data Theft happened from the Third Party servers we are using.

The main reason for this next gen IC is for Digital ID. Reasons given are just an excuse to make Malaysians ignorant of this to accept it. All these problems encountered can be addressed via other means which the government is not keen to implement.

Harap Menteri dapat menyenaraikan fungsi kad pengenalam yg ada cip berkapasiti tinggi ini? Selain dari n, alamat, no KP? KP boleh udn sebagai “underused” Penguat kuasa pun bukan semua ada card reader dan bila nak buat passport pun ada yg mints fotokopi KP!! Ada yg guna sebagai T&C Kecemasan

too late la . the data done sold already unless you dept make a new mykad numbering system . for years i suggest for using blank card with 2 key system . public and private key . data could be accessed only if matching key own by owner presented
