I was in a long distance relationship that lasted for a very long time, and during that period I used to listen to this album at work. I used to go visit her regularly, but naturally there were longer periods where I was home, away from her. Boy & Bear would come on while listening at work and it would immediately make me almost break down in tears. It was such a sweet song and made me feel so much better about being away from her, because we were always together no matter what because I loved her. One time when we were physically together we tried to jokingly watch the pooh movie that Pogo sampled the vocals for the song from. I almost told her about the Pogo song and how it made me feel when we were apart, but for some reason got interrupted and I forgot to mention it. Later, when we were going to bed she asked me what I was gonna say earlier during the movie because "it sounded like it was gonna be romantic" and she fell asleep under my arm I was telling her about it. Figured I'd bring it up later, but I never got to tell her. Earlier this year, we ended the relationship, and any time this song pops into my head it's like a knife stabbing into my heart. I miss her every day, and even though it hurts to hear the song I still think it helps me to face my feelings and listen to it. I just wish that I could have told her about this, and that I still love her. Thank you for that song Pogo. It's helping me through the hardest period of my life.

Why do you stand with him? He celebrated the death of dozens. It's one thing to have criticisms of LGBT, it's another to literally celebrate their death. It's a cruel outlook. I'm a mother of three and I happen to be gay; and it doesn't feel great knowing the artist would cheer if my children wound up without parents following a violent act.
What were you intending to satirize? It isn't exactly clear, which is why it's going down pretty poorly. I try to listen to both sides but it can be difficult without context & understanding.

It simply didn't come off very clearly to me. Didn't seem all that different to the Alt-Right's actual stances. A more successful instance of Satire would highlight and dismiss the error in their views, rather than merely imitate it. It simply wasn't a good example of satire, but unlike some I'm willing to accept his apology. I don't give tons of mind to the news articles tbh, I just heard about him and saw his video. Perhaps the satire might have come across more if we had more context but it seems it was uploaded out of context.
