I’m the main caregiver for my mother who has Parkinson’s disease. It’s very hard and I understand why you feel alone, I’m here if you need someone to talk to

Hello jessie, I deal with Parkinson's disease everyday, I am a caregiver for a Parkinson's patient. And so far the only thing that I found that works in this regard is to take up a group activity that has nothing to do with disability. Perhaps ornithology or fishing. There are groups that will take your mind off of Parkinson's to a certain degree just by participating. You don't need to enjoy the task to benefit from The Herd. And whatever you do do not stop tasks that you can still accomplish good enough. Disallow kind-hearted friends and family from robbing you of this by just politely saying, "I would like to do this." Other than that there is of course SSI and SSDI and or veterans depending on, that have a variety of resources for group that is more Health oriented ranging from exercise to Mental Health. I wish you the best of luck and I believe if you look you will find peace.

@@onokamonique9074 I will suggest a meal modification, which might mean puree pudding in that case she will have less chewing, then I think thickening her liquids might also help prevent fast movement of water down the throat thereby saving her from aspiration, but all this must be confirmed by a specialist which am not
