I know Light Island isn’t many peoples’ favourite, but I never hated it. Doing an island in the style of a lullaby was an interesting idea and their experimenting with music is a big part of why I love My Singing Monsters so much. Anyway Light Island has definitely been improved with Fire Expansion! Tiawa and Drummidary are as good as I’d expect them to be and I’m very impressed with how they made Yelmut work here.
I'm honestly not a fan of a lot of it. I feel like many people try to make Light Island something it isn't by separating everything into a lot of different sections when it's really supposed to be that slow build up of more monsters joining in, like a light growing in intensity. People claim about repetitiveness when its exactly the point and I think the issue is more one of taste and needing to expand taste. I instantly clicked with what Light Island was supposed to be and so it's hard to understand people who never seem to get it. Mammott/Kayna literally never stopping is the point! I will say as a remix though you managed a great climax and ending.
I honestly didn’t get the repetitiveness at first, but over time, I eventually got it and got used to it and I do like the song even if it’s not my top favorite. Still found it a little tricky to mix when I started it though, but at least I had a good result with this mix. Honestly, I was mostly trying not to make this just sound like the original song; I don’t have that much a problem with the placements in it
