This and Citizen Erased sound like a renewed and refreshed version of classic Muse. They sound rich, crisp and wide and the sonic/FX changes make the songs feel like a much more focused and mature version of Origin of Symmetry. I honestly can't wait for the full album, makes me feel like a teenager agan.
The thing that excites me is that they've working on a new album while they've been remixing these. I can only imagine they must be making some awesome sh*t in the studio right now.
This is so incredibly different. The crispness, the strings, the better sounding organ make this song feel a whole lotta more "holy" , "religious" and feels like he's playing a rock song over classical music way more than before.

I think Darkshines was one of the better recordings on OOS. Only thing I’d like changed with that one is for the white noise in the chorus to be decreased.
Remember when we had to listen to "vocals only" tracks to spot all the hidden double voices and falsettos ? THERE IT IS ! We can finally hear them in this new glorious mix ! 🤤

Hearing these songs breathe like this is amazing, there's so much more air and width in the mix, so much more clarity and density while still packing a huge punch, it's like hearing OoS for the first time again. The mix doesn't feel crushed into a box anymore, now it feels like it's engulfing you. This remix just confirms to me how incredible OoS actually is, and now with the modern production, the songs deliver like never before, I cannot wait to hear the rest. Also don't wanna be one of "those Muse fans", but to me this just SMOKES the newer material even harder now, there's just a big OoS antenna shaped shadow looming over the recent stuff, which isn't to say the new stuff is bad cause it's not, but I mean come on, this is just on another level. There's something really special about the first 4 Muse albums, Origin & Absolution especially, a certain unique rawness/fire/spark, and this remix has basically shaped OoS into a god damn diamond!
I mean, there's a reason why Muse did an OoS anniversary show at Reading and Leads and why they're remastering and remixing this album now. They realize it was their pinnacle.

What was great about original version were the quiet verses and how it all exploded on the chorus with the organ, but this version is only louder overall, it kills all of the impact that it had, I just liked the remixed opening, it sounds awesome.
