El viernes llegué precisamente de Bergamo, estuve en la casa natal y en la casa museo donde falleció el maestro Donizetti. Una ciudad maravillosa como el maestro Gaetano.
Absolutely superb and spectacular...fantastic renditions and interpretations...of course, the ultimate amazement must be reserved for Donizetti himself who does not seem to have known to write one single piece of bad music...his so called forgotten operatic pieces rival some of the most popular ones performed day in and day out...one minor point...two of the most powerful pieces in this compilation, performed by Jennifer Larmore, Elvida, are indeed performed by Jennifer Larmore but they are from Francesca di Foix, another obscure opera which is absolutely spectacular...
This is SO wonderful!! thanks you again for another fantastic Donizetti compilation! I hope you will continue! - and perhaps put together the Act II finales, similar to what you did for Act I finales! There's never too much Donizetti!! Just one thing - I believe that Mme Bandelli's first name is Antonella..... A lovely artist...such a shame that there are not more recordings of hers....
you're welcome. Even after listening to these arias more than probably 2 thousand times each I still can't get over how gorgeous the music is. I just corrected Antonella's name. I miss coloraturafan's channel. He had the entire Sancia di Castiglia with Ms. Bandelli, what a treat that was! I could watch it over and over again.
Is Coloraturafan no longer active? How sad ...he posted so many great things....In fact, I still have the Sancia You Tube as a favorite....I also saw somewhere on You Tube Ms. Bandelli at some sort of an audition with Carlo Bergonzi and Leyla Gencer as the judges! How phenomenal!!! Che grandi!! But please do proceed with more Donizetti compilations, if you can!! You do such a fabulous job! With great admiration and thanks - Joan
Great composer. Colorful, fun and even relaxing at times. With that being said next to the later opera geniuses like Verdi, Puccini, Leoncavallo, "bel canto" composers like Donizetti, Bellini, Rossini, fade in comparison. That's just my opinion.
Thank you for sharing. What a lovely collection!

It doesn't get any better than this! Gorgeous singing and music! Never heard so many of these so its a BIG thank you to getty089!
Jennifer Larmore (E'una giovane straniera....Che dan vita ad ogni festa) - non e Elvida, e Francesca di Foix?
Thank you for the correction!

gettyO89 Very nice!! Donizetti is my favorite opera composer
Joan Nilson Yes?? what happened to Coloraturafan?

That's just my opinion.
I don't mean to sound like a broken record - but the "Emilia do Liverpool" aria (2nd one) has got to be the greatest singing on this Earth
indeed!!
Das kann man von allen Nummern hier sagen!!!
Amen!! Sung by the 'Voice of the Century' who cannot and will never be bettered, ever.
Does anyone know what`s the name of the number 09 aria , Elisabetta di Siberia? Thank you!
Ionut Daniel Rinata l'alma
Thanks a lot! Do you know where can I find the musical sheet? I love it!
Ionut Daniel if you can't find it online you should contact Richard Bonynge, Will Crutchfield or Christine Weidinger.
