seeing the way you did the practice bots and easy bots at the beginning was refreshing. i know its not specifically the same, but part of my warm up routine for a long time has been using the sheriff on the easy, med, hard bots I put my crosshair in the center of the beam, and when a bot spawns, I try to keep my crosshair at head level and make it a smooth and fluent movement across the screen to the bots head. After I kill the bot I move my crosshair back to the center of the beam and repeat. Easy bots allows me to take it slow and really just focus on keeping my crosshair where I want it to be, and putting it where I want it to go. Then on to medium, same thing. With medium bots I notice I do more under flicking, then finishing the movement to the head if I don't already land on the head Then at least two times on hard bots, sometimes more. I'm still trying to get a consistent rhythm on the hard bots, but it's forcing me to look at the bot before I shoot it, even though it's hard bots and they're insanely fast, it's helping me zone in on very small amount of time to look at your target before shooting. (by this i mean as Im flicking on the hard bots, I try to zone in and focus on their head and my crosshair at the end of the flick. Making progress with it, and I think a lot of my issues stem from thinking too much about what I am doing haha but yeah just part of my warm up routines ive used for myself over time, and i dont remember getting that from a video. i kind of just worked it out myself after testing out other routines/warmups
Having to let go of your movement keys to reset your aim is not going to be as strong as simply tapping the opposite movement key. Counter-strafing allows you to move continuously, but I do agree that stopping in between shots is not bad at all.
This was used for aim training specifically when i was lower in rank, but since my aim has reached a certain level, i use it as a warmup before playing comp.

I read that there is no point to counter strafe in val as the player stops pretty fast?
