- I'd only used the new Garrett 24k for about 5 minutes before filming this video, it arrived today and I took it straight out to learn how to use it and compare it to my Equinox 800. It appears to handle this quite difficult ground very nicely, the coil isn't bump sensitive even at the highest gain and it's very sensitive to the smallest bits of gold. So far I really like it. The Equinox was on maximum gain. I forgot to mention that in the video.

Followed and looking forward to seeing more with the Garrett 24k, never really expect to find gold with the Nox, it's a coin shooter for sure and mine has paid for itself many times over. I have been lucky a few times and pulled some nugs out of bedrock cracks and boils holes but that's about it.
I've done quite well with the Nox on small gold in bedrock, it replaced my Gold Monster for the job. I also have the Gold Bug 2 but this Garrett 24k seem to be excellent. I've ordered the small 6" concentric coil for it which should improve it even more on small gold in my area. I'll be uploading more videos soon, I've just come out of a Covid Lockdown so haven't had a chance to take it out yet.

How did the Garrett machine pan out for your sub gram gold retrieval Simon?
Really good, I'm happy with it for sure. It's just as sensitive as any of my other high frequency VLF's yet handles ground better, especially hot rocks. I'm glad I got it for sure.
Thanks for the video. I knew i wanted it the moment i saw aquachigger use it in Arizona. It reminds me of the first Bfo machine i used but way more sensitive. Have you ever crush up hot rocks to see if they have any gold in them? Thanks for the video. I ordered it. I alway liked the 6000di by White's. I ordered it to help get off the couch. Im so tired of being shut in because of covid 19 i could screem.! Thanks for the video. I hope you find some nice gold
Sorry for my slow reply, nah the hot rocks don't have gold, they're a pain in the butt though :) the 24k is a great detector.
@@phrunt thanks for responding. I need to go to gold bearing areas. I know the 24 k is sensitive enough . Ive found items half the size or a rice grain. Ive noticed rusty items give off a strong signal. Ive even foun rust pockets that dissappear after digging them up.

What do all the hot rocks mean? Are they worth anything? I used to own a Whites Metal Detector back in the 70's and 80's. Mostly scanned beaches and old sites. Never found much of value except some old coins and some jewelry. Still never a great find like some do.
hot rocks generally contain some form of iron or magnetite, so make the detector react, they're worthless but a pain when looking for gold as gold areas tend to have a lot of them.
So Garrett bought out whites?! At least they live on. Unlike tesoro, still use my vaquero though. Wish someone would still produce them.

Без сомнения, 24k - лучший детектор для горячих камней. Преимущество Equinox в том, что вы можете довольно легко их вырезать, но Garrett лучше справляется с балансировкой грунта. В целом, 24k - фантастический детектор для ОНЧ, я им очень доволен.

O 24k é muito mais sensível que o AT Pro / AT Gold. Se você gosta do seu detector da série AT, vai adorar o 24k.

"hot rock" or ore? If you break them open and let us see what the rock contains we would certainly get a better understanding of the value
of the instrument's capabilities.
"hot rock" originated as a term to describe the deficiencies of the earliest
vlf detectors which would blast away
on rocks and ground that contained
no metalics whatsoever. The terminology has unfortunately been carried forward and has misled many operators of modern metal detectors.
Coinshooting mentality and prospecting are miles apart. Gold is often fluxed with other metalic elements in ores and to exclude these
as "hot rocks" is what the coinshooting
mentality detector operator too often does. For the most advanced operator
tinkering with the threshold on certain detectors can be a time saver in heavy metalic ores. Very hard to learn.
