@@batmanforpresident9655 I love the 80's but I disagree that it would be a slam dunk that today's teams would get blasted. GSW are for real. The game is so different. With that being said; Sixers Celtics Lakers and Bucks were awfully good in 80's. 82 Lakers 83 Sixers 86 Celtics had so many Hall of Farmers in total = 11.

Trust me, I know all about Doc. Have every book. Watched every video. Agree, did things no one else can do, still. Especially the swooping, one handed dunks and layups. One overlooked/unusual skill: medium range bank shots. I'd say he was unleashed immediately with the Squires in 71-72. He made sensational plays against the NBA all stars as a 1st year player.

When he retired after only 11 yrs in the NBA he was top 10 in all time steals & blocks. The other day I watched a 1977 conference championship game between the 76ers & Rockets(22 yr.old Moses Malone & Yes somehow Hoston was in the eastern conerence).
    Dr,J had 27 Pts. by halftime & itlooked easy.The 2nd half he hardly shot & endedup w/ 35! Must5 see 4 J fans

You can see both teams trying to set pace and establish dominance early here in Game 1. Out of all the great playoff runs from the Dr. J years, this was the first time i seen the Sixers playing so confidently on both ends of the court and not letting the Lakers get the upper hand. After all the frustration it was finally such relief to see the Sixers have that one year where they were absolutely the best. We not only got to see the Doc finally win a championship but do it with such dominance with such an amazing team. They put it all together in '83!
