Being an SEO complete nuub (but not daft) I used Yoast and started to drift into trying to achieve green smiles for everything. I found the recommendations useful, paragraph sizes, and general analysis useful and made many changes (co-pilot is excellent to trim to specific word count or even character length) but I quickly realised making green smiles for all this isnt needed and a red herring. I like the integration with Elementor, especially its help creating Titles and Meta which I co-pilot in the first instance to assist by feeding it the page content, then refining for key phrase etc and how it looks on Google preview.. also the coloured analysis bars for Title and Meta dont just measure char length. I also liked the visual representation of how Google would show the Title and Meta, this really helped me optimise before submitting. Today I wake to being No1 and No2 on Google for my key phrase, boom!
"which I co-pilot in the first instance to assist by feeding it the page content," What do you mean exactly? Can you explain? (For a self-professed "SEO complete NUUB" it sure sounds as though you know what you're doing!)
@harbourdogNL lol, my first SEO site. I copy and paste the page content into Copilot and ask it to create a title and meta data ready to add to Yoast, after some tweaking.
Thank you brother for making this video. I was on the fence about Slim seo and was recently using rank math. Wew rank math bent my brain. Because of your video I now installed slim and I'm happy for it. Thank you!
I need Business Location schema. Does Slim SEO have that feature like RankMath does? Also, please do a follow up after importing RankMath into Slim SEO and let us know what breaks please.
Nice one, I lOVE how lightweight it is. definitely going to add to my stack, Specially since I use the free version of Rank Math anyway, and I'm all about shedding that extra weight. Thanks for the vid
This is great, I had been looking at Slim recently as I swapped to Metabox (not related to any of the ACF stuff just likes the LTD) this was a great rundown! I'm curious tho with Bricks for instance. It allows a meta title, description and open graph natively, is Slim SEO doing anything extra that I should opt for Slim for, or should I just stick the native stuff? This def put it at the top of the replacement list. I have gotten annoyed with Rank Math, all it's setting and it's scoring. I also feel like it can give clients the wrong goals sometimes when adding things.
Bricks is even lighter for SEO, and although you could just use that, Slim SEO (other SEO Tools) add a bit more. I've always felt that Bricks was too light.
Rank Math just raised my price from $59 to $104 without telling me. Very disappointed. This was supposed to be a lifetime price. They gave me a song and dance, then offered to lock my price back in at $59. But feeling done with it.
This is very useful thanks. I've been looking into different SEO plugins recently myself and also found them quite overwhelming, Slim SEO is definitely one I'll now consider
You always put out some great info and I have to agree that the AI tick is one that needs to be explained over an over again to clients. In fact I don't like the AI feature because it gives a rediculous analysis of heading tag and link counts when it compares the content to what it finds out there. I mean really? I have seen where it recommends 30 H2 tags for a 1200 word blog post sometimes...its becoming laughable and harder to explain to the client.
It takes 5 minutes to set up RM. If you are an advanced user, you can use their other settings, but their wizard setup literally takes 5 minutes. I also have the PRO version of RM, and really like their Content AI feature. But SLIM looks cool if you just want the basic stuff. Don't understand that people still use Yoast though.
Prior to building a website you will research and then add to your site. What RM and others do is highlight if you've mentioned the keyword in your title, h1, h2, content, image ALT etc. When you state the keywords in RM it is not injecting them into the site. You have to make the keywords fit the content.
Understood but the impact is down to niche, keywords, frequency of searching, and the build. Trust me, it works, but use the SEO Tool that works for you.
Rank maths pricing strategy has been off for ages, it doubles into the second year with no reason, they even advise you to create a new licence to get the cheaper pricing which is just crazy its all so disconnected
The SEO Framework felt like lots of settings, but it is subjective and you should always use what you prefer. This video was about my decision to run away from Rank Math.
@websquadron it's not built by seo specialist They only have wordpress and tech in mind Rankmath, on the other hand, seems to be very updated on seo rules and policy
He is being Paid , I am 100% sure about it , 2 years back he made, me use Rank math from Yoast , Now again this . This guy doesn't stick to one direction , where ever the money is thrown , dog follows
He said it’s free. I’ve changed SEO plugins about three times over the past 5 years. Things change, better products come along and if you’re serious about SEO, you might well change.
No one is making you use anything. Do your research first and use these videos as guides but this channel has an overwhelming amount of great content. Plugins come and go , sometimes better ones come along. Now if I see a switch to Coke Zero on this channel I’m unsubbing.
Show me proof or evidence of any payment. I used RM then because Yoast stuck a lot behind a paywall. Contact Slim SEO if you don't believe me. Your comments reflects more about you than me. I look forward to seeing your evidence.
Absolutely right. It's a bit like how many of us used Yoast until RM came along. One day something else will come out that's even better. I never made the 'poster' use RM. It's not like I pushed his fingers for him :)

I’m a noob too and just installed the free version of Yoast on 2WP sites. Are you using the free version?

Been using Slim SEO for a while... I, too, appreciate its simplicity.
Thanks, Imran, for another fine video.
Thank you! I just switched :). Yes your explanations and their written ones are clear and easy to follow.
Glad it was helpful!

I use slim seo as well, it's so good. No need to overthinking so many things
THANKS! Love your recommendations and tutorials!
Nice, now we need a Full Guide Tutorial about Slim Seo
Indeed we do :)
I need Business Location schema. Does Slim SEO have that feature like RankMath does?
Also, please do a follow up after importing RankMath into Slim SEO and let us know what breaks please.
This is where you would need the add-on from Slim SEO, so other SEO Tools would be better. It's all down to need.
Nice one, I lOVE how lightweight it is. definitely going to add to my stack, Specially since I use the free version of Rank Math anyway, and I'm all about shedding that extra weight. Thanks for the vid
Looks great! I will consider moving from SEOpress Pro and the yearly subscription fee. Thanks for sharing, Imran.
Seopress PRO its good.
SEOPress have been one of the good ones for a while though.
This is great, I had been looking at Slim recently as I swapped to Metabox (not related to any of the ACF stuff just likes the LTD) this was a great rundown!

Great plugin suggestion! Will change mine now. Can you suggest something similar as a Wordfence replacement? Also more lightweight?
I'm looking into a few.
Very informational. Would try it for future projects!
Rank Math just raised my price from $59 to $104 without telling me. Very disappointed. This was supposed to be a lifetime price. They gave me a song and dance, then offered to lock my price back in at $59. But feeling done with it.
Sorry to hear that :(

Thankyou! I am about to start a new project and I was truely dredding setting up rankmath

SEOPress for the win!
Wow.. last month, I just testing client site using slim seo and doing the comparison with rankmath.. and i feel you 😅
Big difference isn't it.
I use WP All Imports can it bring in the description into a custom field like I do with Yoast?
Not checked that.
@ I’ll see if I can set up a test site to try it out.
Slim SEO or The SEO Framework are very minimalistic and do a good job.
Thank you for your informative video. I agree. It is better to be roughly exact than exactly wrong ;)
Great video, Rank Math IA selling everywhere is getting overwhelming and expensive. Just one question, what about Google Site Kit?
Google Site Kit is totally good for the GSC and GA connections.
very good.thanks
I’ll try switching from RM, and let you know. does slim suits well to woocommerce shop?
It's fine as it create the sitemaps for those. Inside the settings, click on the sitemap link and you get the ones to add to Google Search Console.
Rank math is over bloat for sure. SEO Press or Slim are more than adequate. Redirection plugin also very useful.
Awesome
it seems slim seo does not have keywords option? for rank math each product or page has an option to fill in a keyword?
Prior to building a website you will research and then add to your site. What RM and others do is highlight if you've mentioned the keyword in your title, h1, h2, content, image ALT etc. When you state the keywords in RM it is not injecting them into the site. You have to make the keywords fit the content.
Is it equally good for woocommerce?
Yup, it handles the sitemaps and adds the meta for that.
Please you have to release more content on slimseo and it impact on a website. This tutorial just scratch the surface but thanks for the info.
Understood but the impact is down to niche, keywords, frequency of searching, and the build. Trust me, it works, but use the SEO Tool that works for you.
Nice! We have been using All In One SEO for years and it's turned into a bloated plugin. We look forward to migrating to Slim SEO.
I need to find a cool way to just add a snippet to handle it all.
I liked squirrely.
TSF for the win.
what’s tsf mate 😂
@ The SEO Framework = TSF
i agree, that rank math AI shit sux
All in all, you don't need seo plug-ins.
P.s. RankMath got acquired by a hosting company
Rank maths pricing strategy has been off for ages, it doubles into the second year with no reason, they even advise you to create a new licence to get the cheaper pricing which is just crazy its all so disconnected
Yup. The advantages to Pro are so minimal that the cost to go Pro makes no sense to me.
There are several things that Rank Math can do but Slim SEO cannot. I have used premium addons of both.
Sorry but the Slim SEO - SEO Checklist shows the steps in the old Universal Analytics. Thats not up-to-date and not simple.
Why should this be better than the SEO framework?
The SEO Framework felt like lots of settings, but it is subjective and you should always use what you prefer. This video was about my decision to run away from Rank Math.
Does slim SEO has instant indexing API feature?
No, so you'll need to request a crawl via GSC.
The lighter the plugin, the more will fall on you, but I would prefer simple and quick than lots to do.
Would you recommend the Slim SEO paid add-ons?
Yes for better schema set up
Big time mistake
Nooooooooooooooo !!!! :) :) :) Do you not like Slim SEO? I'm always open to hear reasons and change my mind if I'm convinced.
@websquadron it's not built by seo specialist
They only have wordpress and tech in mind
Rankmath, on the other hand, seems to be very updated on seo rules and policy

And he 100% said that it's not sponsored. It's always your decision what to use and I'm personally going with RankMath
He said it’s free. I’ve changed SEO plugins about three times over the past 5 years. Things change, better products come along and if you’re serious about SEO, you might well change.
