Nicely done video. I've been contemplating doing the same to a clock with a plain old quartz movement. Did you buy the "donor" clock first, then select the radio clock movement from Klockit, or did the movement come first, following by finding a suitable quartz clock?
I was hoping to convert a clock I inherited from my parents, but haven't been able to find a radio movement with a very long threaded bushing, as the clock has a face that is about 12-14 mm thick. That's even hard to accommodate with a standard quartz movement, so for the time being I had to settle for one of Klockit's quartz movements that runs with a "C" battery. Alas, not much choice available in this regard.

I like your video; very well explained. But, is the second hand on the new R.C. movement silent?

Atomic Clocks usually don’t tick that loudly. My old SkyScan makes some noise but only every 15 seconds (the second hand has troubles on that one anyway)
My newest stepper motor atomic clock does not tick, even though it has the ticking motion. So yes these types of clocks are relatively silent.

+Jim Watson - It depends on how close you live to Fort Collins, Colorado, the location of the WWVB time reference transmitter. The closer you are, the stronger the signal and the best chance you have of a radio clock movement working in a partial metal enclosure.

I'm not sure if your Simplex slave clock has a metal case and/or a metal face. Klockit doesn't recommend using these with metal clocks because the metal can cause reception problems. I've done this with a metal clock, however, and it worked for me (but no guarantees for you). The only other concern would be if the clock is especially thin between the clock face and the front glass. If it's "normal" then you'll be okay. If it's too thin then you might not be able to use the second hand option.

A little bit OCD: I noticed that your 12 o'clock position didn't quite match the one on the clock. It should be perpendicular to the baseline of the numbers.

Greg, bad news: As of today, June 10, 2022,
ClockIT no longer sells radio controlled clock movements due to technical difficulties.

I know that several months ago the radio controlled movements disappeared from the Klockit website but then they can back. So maybe they’ll come back again.

They do sell them on Amazon! They take a while to ship for some reason though. Worth it though, i made a completely custom atomic clock out of an old calendar picture with it 😄

Hello I have an old simplex slave clock. Will your conversion work on that?
