    So if you want to sign the certificate at the church does that mean that there is no need for the couple to have any signing at the council?

    • @ZambianLocalGuide
      @ZambianLocalGuide  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Susan , yes provided that the church is Gazetted to sign off weddings. And you have a Gazetted official to officiate the signing

      @@ZambianLocalGuidebut I always see people taking pictures at the civic center then have the wedding at church. Could you please just run me through the whole process for the church thing. I think I am not clear 😭

      @@susanbwalya4168 so you have 2 options.
      1st option :You Solemnise the wedding at civic centre, make the vows and sign the marriage certificate there, then you are considered husband and wife. You go to church just for the blessings meaning u would have already been married at civic centre. Those are the ones u see taking photos at civic centre because the moment you do vows and sign marriage certificate at civic centre, then you are considered married. You go to church just for religious formalities.
      2nd option:You just make payments at civic centre for the marriage certificate. Then the vows and signing the marriage certificate is done at the church provided that your church building is Gazetted to solemnize marriages and your religious leader is Gazetted to issue marriege certificates. No need to go to civic centre to take pictures.
      Hope that answers your question. But u can always contact the civic centre for clarification.
      Also check their website on lcc.gov.zm
