Non-Stop Rail Action at Kandersteg, High in the Swiss Alps

It is difficult to imagine a more beautiful train-watching locale. This was shot in September 2005, before the new Loetschberg basis tunnel was opened and siphoned much of the traffic off of this line.

In 1996, my wife and I rode the chairlift on a cold, rainy June day with canvas shroud around the chair. Blankets were provided also. We wanted to see the beautiful mountain lake, but the muddy pathway prevented that. Later we rode tne 'car train' on our way to Interlachen...quite an experience and saving hours of driving time. Oh to have had the beautiful day as in your video! Tremendous video with great vantage points...such a magnificent part of the world. Thank you very much for this excellent footage!!

Skied in Kandersteg twice in the early 70"s wonderful place. The hotel was on the edge of the railway.
