She is not forgotten, I am a vocalist myself and always include several of her songs in my repertoire! Another post I read said that she just just enough heartbreak in her vocals to be theatre gold - actual heartbreak - her style of singing with all of it's emotion is music to my ears and my heart! What a gift she is!!!!
I "found" Helen when I was a teenager. I still love her. Chronologically she is my first singer, followed by Billie Holiday, Dinah Washington, and Amy Winehouse.
Helen had the most beautiful voice - pure and haunting, in a great way. She always sounded to me as though she was on the brink of tears. One of my favorites.
I love Helen Morgan!
