Digitech RP255 Multieffect Processor - Distortion Sounds Only

- This is a variation of the other video I uploaded a minute ago. As I am asked quite a few times per week if the RPs can produce some heavy distortions or sweet long sustaining solo tones I thought I make a video for you guys and girls that features a few of those presets. Again I didnt change a single parameter on none of the examples what you hear is what you get. I also used the poweramp in of an amplifier called "The Valve" which is a italian made 2x12 combo. But since I use the poweramp in the amps preamp is not in the signal chain...the RP is the preamp for all the the examples.

underrated piece of gear. i did many gigs with it. sounds great imo
thanks for posting! great playing and tone... you've sold me on the 255, I need something to record direct and this sounds much better than the podxt I was thinking of getting, especially the jcm 900.
I own this pedal since 2 years and have made some sick heavy death metal sounds...
that BROWN preset is perfect for 80s style metal, which kicks ass!

Very good reviews by you sir. I'm really impressed by the tone of these things.. All of the RP series that is. Do you have any reviews of this RP pedal going into a PA or Powered Monitor speakers, etc? I'd love to hear the pedal connected this way with the cab immulation. Thanks so much!!!

to turn off cab sim you have to do it manually in the amp model it self

@tony93666 sounds like a plexi variac yeah hes using cab sim on the digtech threw an amp and it still sounds prescent these newer rps have a direct or amp out put when amp out put is engauged the cab sim stays on and the reble freqeuncy is increased and it sounds very prescent wich is cool about the new rps they can completely take over your tone amp and cab

I take the Digitech over Boss or Line6 any day. RP355 plugged directly in the PA system and ya ready to roll. Fuk amps.

@timothyga01 rethink guitar maybe? what type of music do you want to play? schecter has some great quality and relatively cheap guitars. you could always ditch the hardshell case for now and just get a gig bag to hold you over.
ive read your info above.i just wanna confirm ur not plugged into the pc while recording this right.and how do the sounds of this compare to the rp 155 are they exact the same but just with an expretion pedal or is the more and what other extra did u get if any :D
@frankskans Hey mate, Just so you know as far as i'm concerned anyways I think the rp255 is incapable of putting out a great Angus young sound, I have tried for weeks with somthing very close but it then bursts your ear drums in the upper mids to be able to coax it out of the 255. It will give pretty nice metallica, Michael angelo batio, steve vai sounds though. The Dual Chorus Own's too! Cheers, IC

Hmm do you think this pedal would be good enough to be used for live gigs ? I'm talking about small club gigs with like 40-50 people, thinking about running my Ibanez RG321 MH though it and straight out into the mixer ? What do you think about it ?

@ralfjung and the cab sim stays on i owned that pedal once before i sold it when i ran it on amp out the cab sim still stayed on watch my video called in depth review of the rp 250 to see what i am talking about all the amp out does in the signal is it increases to treble to give it more prescence but i can here it in every preset you use the cab sim is still on not to sound offesive no hard feelings but i owned this pedal once and i know that cab sim stays on even when its on the amp out
i'm a little surprised you didn't show the "thunder" preset--its killer for metal. but anyways i can't seem to edit my presets: i really want to put a compressor on the thunder preset to tighten it up for some djent type stuff but it doesn't want to....help? (i've followed the manual and it doesn't work)
do you think that a different amp would effect the sounds significantly or would the sound you have be be the same on my amp

Does this have the same JCM900 amp model that is in the RP1000 and GSP1101?
There's not any good lead presets on the pedal. I had to go in and make all of mine.
Excuse me Ralf Jung, I bough this a while ago, but I still have a question, big time. I wonder if this pedal could be connected to a Cabinet only, as if it was the head, to use the cabinet only without head by using the digitech rp 255 as the head. Will this be possible?

hey my budget is $500 and I'm getting my first electric I've beenplaying acoustic for 2 1/2 years and wanted some advise.
My current wishlist is this
Ephiphone les paul $300, Hardshell case- $79 Marshall amp MG15 15w( i know amps not GREAT) and DigiTech RP155- $100 and last the cable $12 this ends up being 545.96 with the 15% off deal going on right now at guitar center is there a way I could lower that to less than 500?!?!?! I also need to know if this is a good set up how bout squire strats?
Get a used guitar. You'll be able to get a nicer one , and hopefully it'll be broken in with the kinks worked out already

Friend I have a pedal Digitech RP350 is the first time in my life q pedal use. ! but I want to change its distortion but want a distortion as Guns N Roses or AC / DC is q best not to sound the same but look for something if I could help I would appreciate it a lot. ! as well as in your 1:27 minute video is called brown q or q minute 3:20 marshl called the two help me sound as brutal achievement q modify these two distortion pedal . !
