Hi , I am thinking to apply UNIST. In general, are Korean students nice and inclusive for international students? Without having a fluency of Korean, was it ok to follow lectures, do assignment (can be both individual and group) ? Are student supposed to submit report and exam papers in full English? How are TA and tutors who are assigned to students to help struggling subjects? Sorry for many questions , it seems you already left Korea though.
Yeah koreans are used to the international community, all of the lectures are in english so you can get by with 0 korean. TAs and tutors are not particularly helpful to be honest, they are just clueless to how to speak english even though they seem to understand it fine. Only help you will get is from Proffesors! They are very good here

Hi!! I have the same situation ... And I want to escape this place and move out as well. So I heard , there are courses which are to be taken in English but professors take classes in Korean?? How do you deal with those? And I've also heard teachers will speak Korean in lab , how do you deal with that again ?
In UNIST, Professor teach fully in English and if a Korean student asks the question in Korean, Professor will reply in Korean, however if you are mean like me you can point out both to the student and Professor to translate both students question and answer of Professor. They will definitely do. In Labs, hmm you will have a senior, mentor who will be supervising you and speaking in English with you, so if you are interested in knowing what are the lab mates are talking abt in Korean you can just ask. But usually, most of the time if there is an international student in the meeting, everything will be in English. And whatever that is in Korean should not bother you, so don't worry.

Your story is AMAZING! I know most of the people coming to korea because they love korea but you just came there and fell in love. BTW im jewish so I also dont eat pork and it smells TERRIBLE. One time a girl in my guest house made herself bacon for breakfast and the whole place was smelling really bad 🤮 There are many halal places in seoul 😊

I think you were just heavily oppressed in your home country, and as a result, glorifying Korea for its differences. I'd recommend you to go travel other parts of the world if not just visit a couple other countries close by.
