Linkin park were my first favourite band and I adored Chesters vocals and talent. RIP

I think suicidal people are like this by nature. Or, more specifically, it's a sum of characteristics added up, that when synchronized make the person actually commit suicide. It's a minority of people, but when you analyze the circumstances, you can find several traits in common with most of them. One thing is though, many suicidal people may not get to the point of actually doing it, because things don't synchronize enough at a moment for them to act.

Any notes for that sort of time has to be hard. Myles Kennedy sings a line with an 8 second note, followed straight up by another line and then onto a 27 second not on Blackbird. Hands down best rock track in 25 years

You know, the scream may actually be an overtone scream. Not layered. maybe. He does sing with two or three different notes, and I found on TH-cam that it's overtone singing, and that's why you can here him scream and sing gritty in three different notes. So this might actually be a scream with just a basic fry scream and applying this gritty raps technique to the scream. He is though. They said he is, but this may not be layered, and is very hard to do,

@tolipotua12 It's got a fair amount of reverb and delay on it, which cuts off as soon as it finishes. Most bands who use screaming, use reverb on them to make them sound fuller for longer.

I also practise screaming and singing with grit. Especially for aggressive vocals you need a good air control and not much air. You need to work on your support and on singing your highest notes correctly. I think it's quite easy to do if you know exactly how. And also the screams are not that loud as many people think. They sound brutal but they are as loud as a normal singing voice and somtimes even more silent.

The more distortion you use,the easy it gets singing high notes
The note is a B5 which is already higher than the normal range of most male singers, so the trick is getting the note down cleanly then building around it. Just like with screams, they sound best when the note supporting it is strong. Without practice, screams are usually attempted with volume/aggression being the goal and the note secondary.
So the note in I’ve given UUUP is sang mostly cleanly. The trick is learning how to compress and adding the distortion on top through your chest/stomach and NOT your throat. The problem is it takes a long time to get good at and not many people could do it like Chester could. Not many vocalists make you ask the second question in your comment:).
Plus, the vowel in the note sounding like an “ah” is the hardest sound for me to sing high. If it was “I give them teeeeeeeeeth,” it would be much easier to apply all of this because your mouth isn’t as wide open.
As far as practice goes, I would first try to increase your range so the B5 is easier and you don’t have to reach. When you can hit that note super clean (that’s how he performed it live most of the time anyway), it becomes a lot easier to add the distortion to it. Then I would look up exercises on how to breathe and compress with your diaphragm, there are plenty on TH-cam. The key is that you don’t want to feel any pain. Just keep practicing until you stop feeling a sharp sensation in your throat and start feeling a vibrating sensation deep in your chest. But If you really want it to sound like the song you have to practice a lot and stay patient. I’ve been practicing for months now and I’ve gotten close but I’m not quite there yet
Sometimes when i practice i sound good but 2 hours later when i try i just can't remember what was i doing with my mouth...weird stuff
