- Today marked the launch of the native PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S version of one of our favourite racing simulators - Assetto Corsa Competizione. But, how does the new version perform?
To investigate, we tried the original PS4 release from 2020, then on a PS4 Pro and then finally, today’s (22nd February 2022) new native PS5 release and compiled this into one handy video.
Assetto Corsa Competizione is available now, digitally, for both PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, followed by a physical game disc release on the 24th.
If you already own the Xbox One version, a patch will start downloading on Xbox Series X|S when you next boot Assetto Corsa Competizione.
If you already own the PS4 version, visit the PlayStation store and download the separate SKU labelled ‘PS4/PS5’.

We've been tipped off (thanks Phil Baythorpe) and have a work around for the slightly jerky steering wheel animation on PS5. The settings we recorded at are the out of the box experience, however if you go into settings and change the steering lock and increase it this resolves the issue.
Finally we have control of FOV. Overall, it's a decent step but full of small bugs and poor LOD/Pop-in on some tracks.
I am playing on the NexGen console and I didn’t notice the jitter in the steering wheel until I saw your video. I noticed it when I was using my controller but not when I plugged in my wheel. But overall I really do like the update, I can honestly say I’ll start playing it again now.

maybe there is a setup to hide the wheel, like on pc?
@@frantz4318 I might have to check for that. I mean I like the steering wheel but not if it's gonna be all jittery.
I hope they have a psvr2 dev kit in their hands right now. That'll be awesome if it gets vr support later. Also wouldn't mind an update with udp telemetry later.
In PS5 looks so cool, its sad they dont made that update for PS4 Pro too..

What a mess. Let me begin by saying I have been playing about 600 hours
ACC xbox One version on my Series X and loved every moment of it. Having
what felt like forever for Series x optimized version to come out what a
disappointment. I have played maybe 1 hour and found the following.
Intro songs plays even when skipped. Horrible Pop-in graphics. Dropped
frames that I never had on xbox one version even with FreeSync on.
Showroom is blurred. 2021 liveries and bmw m4 thrown into 2020 Tab.
Talking about bmw. The lights don't work in Night racing. Replays in wet
has no spash from back of car. Weird flickers in various onboard views.
Challenges are gone....sigh I'm Just going to stop because listing
these just make me depressed again. Kunos. Whoever does your console
version ports are giving you a bad name. I have always loved and
supported your titles from AC early access days. I just cant afford
expensive PC anymore but don't treat your console clients as peasants
with the PC master race attitude. The Series X is a beast of a machine
so there is no reason for such a horrible performing excuse of an
update. If you a small team then employ more people but don't treat my
money as less important than a PC owner. Would Jardier, Dalking or James
B be happy with this update? On a possitive note the Night looks so
much better and the force feedback on my thrustmaster ts-xw feels so
much better.
Looking and especially feeling great on Series x. FFB massively improved on my G923, and it’s running fast and smooth as butter. Up to Ver 1.7.8.2 on Xbox.
My main question is where you find that music?
If they use properly the FOVEATED RENDERING on PSVR2 they have all the power they need to give us a GREAT PSVR2 GAME !!!

Really disappointed of ACC on PS4 pro. GT7 on my PS4 pro looks amazing (significantly better than ACC on PS5 or even PC as shown in this video)

One more thing, i just started the game on Ps5, but do you guys also has this when you have the rolling start, if you go to far ahead, your car will go into the car in front of you? Was that already in the game? It doesnt look right. The moment the green lights go out, no issue.
This also occured in the ps4 version, now with the PS5 version it is still a bug

how can a game with that frame rate on ps4 be put up for sale?

all i remember acc ps4 made my ps4 a jet engine and looking at that performance its too much for it to handle ps4 pro is much better havnt got ps5 yet though but im happy with ps4 pro atm
I'm not very happy for this update! The quality of the shadows, the pop in , the texture that appears after seconds in the replay... In the night with the new m4 the lights don't work properly in the cockpit o Bonet view. Yes I gain 4/5 fps but pretty much everything in terms of graphics work badly in comparison with the version in retrocompatibility.

Doesn’t matter, ps5 version crashes nonstop so I can’t even play the ps5 version
To be honest, this game for consoles lacks of so many features that it appears they did it on purpose, not because of the hardware...fixed views in cockpit view just...because.... can't handle UI options...not sure if it is only me but cannot make live changes to pit set ups and other changes because even if you open the quick menu, the cursor cannot move properly between the fields...and a lot of bugs here and there....ohh! And the lights! For god sake! It seems like you have a micro beam pointing at the sides of your car and even that is too damn close to the car... can't see anything! Even Shift 2 had better illumination coming from the car, and that one sucked though....I enjoy this game a lot, such a shame that we did not get at least what AC offered... sometimes I feel the console version is an abandoned one...
Xbox one X version just as good as PS5 and Series X..

Yes that's true. I can't afford to spend thousands on a high end PC right now so the £360 PS5 was ideal. Plus I get to play GT7.
@@sheleemkashem6957 I can completely understand your situation. Before I get my current pc I played acc on a ps4 pro. Performance wasn't really that bad but it still gave me struggles. For example u can't play with the major community that run the game with pc. Also u can only use wheels that sony allows. No button box and no ultrawide display (very helpful in sim racing). Updates are constantly delayed on the consoles, pc is on 1.8.11 now and they release 1.7 even on ps5 for u guys 😅
After I bought my pc, I never look back. Its just a second hand potato with rtx2060 and it get the job done. Now the only reason I will race on playstation is GT 😂😂
I have the PC version and its awesome but I also have a PS5 so all my bases are covered.
Pc/playstation combo is the best. If you can afford it of course.
Yes i play the next gen version of ACC for a couple of years now. It is called the PC masterrace version. It is that version with the best graphics 120+fps and also triple monitor support. I have one quastin, what is a ps5? I never seen one in my life. It is very rare i think.....
They will have updated to 120fps sooner or later on ps5. It's only a matter of time because they're working on it.
And the FPS ?
30 FPS on the PS4, 40 FPS on the PS4 Pro and 60 FPS on the PS5
PS4 or PS5! It will always be below a PC. That's why we see very few PC images in this video

I'm surprised how well the PS4 Pro version holds up, but the PS5 version looks excellent. Provided they can work through the bugs that are coming up post launch it looks like ACC on a PS5 is a really strong choice for entry into sim racing.

The PC comparison was what, 2 seconds? I want to compare ps5 to PC because most videos I watch of this game are on PC and looks incredible, but I have a feeling the ps5 version is not even close
So many bugs:
Flicking through the mfd kills the accelerator, you have to lift off for it to kick in again
Time of day changing between certain hours is so harsh and noticeable it flickers from dark to light
The M4 headlights don’t work properly, they’re only on the left side and the spread is tiny
The M4s setup picture is a Lamborghini 😂
Force feedback feels super light now (csl elite)
Private lobbies aren’t fully customisable like a server was
Lap times not being recorded, so qualy is nulled and positions on track not being monitored
I’m sure there are more, I only played for an hour
However, 4K 60FPS is glorious!

Series X, Looks and plays like a dream
An Amazing Sim Racer.
Luckily it was a free update for me having owned it since day 1 Digitally.
It is not stable 4K 60fps on PS5 with 30 cars on the grid. I noticed some fps drops / stuttering on Brands Hatch. Maybe it just on Brands Hatch. Do you noticed also with 30 cars on the grid some fps drops or stuttering ?

HELP. Upgraded to the PS5 version but I'm still seeing pop-ins at every track. This normal???
The wheel issue isn't an issue at all - your steering lock is simply set too low. Change that and it's buttery smooth.

@@PauloOliveira-xg9xt Options, Controls, Steering Lock. Set it to 900 and leave it. Cars steering lock are automatically changed based on the car chosen.
Just got it , and ps5 version looks low res, less than 1080p even.
Ps4 version on ps5 looks just as good, idk, pretty bummed, plus still stutters on ps5.

The graphics difference is huge when it’s wet races and the cars and track are so crisp, even at high speed. Nice to finally see a proper racing game on ps5 in 4K 🤩. Has anyone tried it with a thrustmaster SF1000? Mine arrives in a couple weeks.

Had it on ps4...that spa issue is a nightmare. Moved to PC, never looking back...upgrade is dependent on you budget not Sony

@@shanewright9489 don't have a ps5, gave up on trying to get one lol. Invested in a gaming PC. Works well with acc and can upgrade the tech for beyond a ps5.

The rain effects are disappointing on all 3 to be honest. You can barely tell its raining without look at the spray

ACC on sale for pS5 and pC - worth a buy on either? If had to choose between the 2 - what would you get? PC is 8700k / RTX 2080 and other choice is PS5 console. Thanks gamers!
Same question here, my pc is Alienware laptop with GTX 1080 external gpu i7 cpu 16gb ram and NVMe ssd.
Went ahead and purchased it for PS5. Guaranteed 4k/60fps, faster load times. I traded these with better force feedback resolution (400hz vs 60hz I believe) and newer firmware. If I had RTX 2080, that would be much tougher decision. But to help you with your question, I would still prefer PS5, just for the ease of use.
Have been waiting for this release for months now and it did not disappoint! Looks great - not amazing but it does wow in night time and during certain weather. Also the FFB seems improved and I can feel lots of detail and when the cars slide and can correct accordingly. All in all i am happy with the PS5 version but was hoping more DLC content was going to be included as the game alone is complicated / confusing and the only way to unlock tracks and cars is to buy them??? Seems odd but if I keep playing maybe I'll end up buying them for the tracks.

I'm gonna be that guy and say I've been playing the next gen version of ACC since its alpha on PC in 2018 *scoff noise*. Joking aside its incredible how good this sim looks and how good that Lexus sounds!

There is nothing smooth about my steering wheel animation on the Pro! Can’t even play on that view… so off putting.
Gt sport had better graphics and runs 60fps on ps4. The problem is with their game not the console.
GT Sport also has a far less demanding physics engine than ACC.
@@adamb3129 well right now yeah acc physics are probably a lot heavier than gt sport and they now use the full potential of the console but back in 2018 not really lol. They was using the full potential of the ps4 just like gt sport. The physic of acc 4 years ago was not what they are today. Both gt sport and acc was running 30fps with their own engine. Acc updated their engine physics and the graphics along the way. Gt sport only updated the graphics once the ps5 released. Gt sport is not using the full potential of the ps5 in terms of engine physics. Gt 7 will. Gt 7 will have better graphics than acc (on playstation) and will probably be equal in terms of engine physics.
If you compare these two... Well go back playing Fifa...
You realize the physics part of this game is really demanding right? GT sport looks really good but the physics are not on the same level as this game so no the problem is not the game
@@alexisriel1291 GT Sport has never been upgraded for PS5. They used the PS4 to its max capabilities but the graphics on a PS4 and PS5 are the same. GT7 likely won’t maximize the PS5 since it’s cross gen.
