Was introduced to this channel yesterday, 9 March 2021. I am just amazed at the vast in depth knowledge Dr. Lori has on such an array of items. Loving her willingness to share her knowledge. Loving her enthusiasm and desire for others to do well with no monetary gain for herself.
My father was stricken with polio when he was 14. I never knew any different. So...You grow up with an acceptance of all people and all their deference’s. You don’t know what people are experiencing in their own life. So subsequently I never judge. Or comment on people’s uniqueness or handicaps. That’s what makes the world a unique richer place. There are some handicapped people that will achieve greatness beyond anything most of us can imagine. 👍c

Thanks for the suggestion. We are always working on new vids. Ones like this one here are dependent on what comes into my events. For some reason, not many people bring me vintage clothing so we are looking at other options so I can talk about those pieces. I do appraise pieces like this. Look for a new vid on textiles coming up that you might find fun to watch :)
My grandmother made her own version of the cabbage patch dolls for her granddaughters. I was lucky enough to get 3. They have their fingers and toes outlined, by stitching, and they even have a belly button. They even have the latched yarn hair. I would love to get them appraised. To me, these are the original cabbage patched dolls. I also have an original C.P. Doll, but without the adoption cert. She bought baby clothes to fit the dolls at the time she made these. I have 2 girls and I have a little boy that stands in the corner. Clothed with bib overhauls, shoes and a baby sized baseball cap. I'm 60 yrs old, she made these in the 80's. To me, they are priceless. I have an original vintage Howdy Dowdy Doll, complete with record. I also have my sons Mario and Luigi stuff dolls, that are from the 80's, I make faceless cancer awareness dolls, stitched by hand, including the dress that is also stitched by hand. I have Barbies from 1966, a Ken doll (66) a Skipper doll, one of the 1st ones to come out. They are all boxed up in my closet.

I have absolutely loved dolls as far back as I can remember, many of them you showed here. Unfortunately they were thrown or given away while I was in college. A few decades later, I'm trying to get back at least a few. I know this is more for sellers, but is also really helpful for buyers like me searching in what seems to be a market flooded with resellers. It's overwhelming. This helps a lot Dr Lori, thank you.

I found a neon preemie cabbage patch kid in a thrift store awhile back he was bald no diaper or pacy but he came cute outfit. Only paid $4 for him and named him Patrick Wayne. He shares his brother and sisters pacifer and has his own shoes and diaper

I keep debating if Im going to sell some of my daughters american girl stuff. I know i wont sell the ones i had when i was a kid i saved for her, but she has so much of it that just sits in storage now! I miss that age!
I can help tell you what people really pay for the dolls. I do suggest you ask your daughter first. I hear a lot of stories where parents have thrown away dolls and baseball cards and the children are not happy since they were not asked.

I had a family and a dog when I was young where you wound it up and she squirmed around like a little baby. It was my favorite doll in the whole world. Sadly when my parents divorced my mom sold it in a garage sale. I would kill to have one of those again

I have an all clothe, everything original, adoption papers, birth certificate, all original clothes, last of the hand signed Cabage Patch doll. Before they went into mass production. She is in good condition slightly soiled on her nose. I wonder what she could be worth in today's market. I bout her in 1979 or 1980.

You have to analyze the entire market and know your group. Are they collectors, real shoppers or flippers who want to get bargains to resell? My values are based on actual sales records where I have seen similar pieces actually sell.

How or where can I find if my doll has value other than sentimental? It is a Star Doll from 1965. It still looks good as new with original dress, panties and shoes no socks. Hair and eyes in original clean and working condition (eyes open and close easily). Limbs move easily and she still stands when hips positioned right.

I wish you could do more videos on cabbage patch kids since there becoming more rare to find in thrift stores and when you do find them they have jacked the price up like all there things.I would like to see there vaules and what is rare and so.

I have 60 cabbage patch babies. Good condition, lots of original clothes, shoes and toys. 3 in original boxes, several with papers. Caucasian, American Indian, and African American. One was taken off the market because of danger to children. Was should I sell them all for?
I can help, but need to see them to verify what you have and determine that factors that affect value. For example, you may think they are in good condition and I could think they are in excellent condition which would affect value. Can you show me during a video call? Send me pics?

@@Lotusflo90 Yes, many factors determine value so I have to see a particular piece to value it. I use the example of can you tell me if all pepperoni pizza is good. You can't say all of its good, right :) Depends on a lot of factors, the pizza shop, the dough, etc :)
Dr Lori I have a little doll that is possibly made of celluloid it has handstitched clothing that is not removable. The clothing is made from some sort of thread that has yellowed over the yrs. It used to belong to my great grandmother who passed away about 35 yrs ago at the age of 104. The name on the back of the doors neck says Fenwall No.8 USA . Do u know how much it's worth?

Dr. Lori, you are so down to earth, and very knowledgeable. Please, can you answer this question . I have a cabbage patch doll that has the blue 85 signature on her butt, and the body tags says Coleco, P factory, Amsterdam, NY. She is in good condition. Behind her head the copyright has 1978, 1983 OAA, Inc but she has no head mold number and no batch number. Could she be a prototype or is she a fake? Thanks in advance.

I have beanie babies. They were put in zip lock bags, with tag protectors
Some have red numbers stamped inside including one of my princess dianna beanies.
Most are PVC. So how do I their values?
I have an original book that says what tags are what year with the differences. I have probably 1000 beanies
Because of my medical condition, I want to sell them at the right value.

I want to come too! Just purchased a metal detector from costco and had no idea it's so complicated to operate. I live by Harpers Ferry WV. Bigger hips than Dr Lori and about the same age. Chocolate only goes so far for energy so am fine if you two leave me in the dirt. Ha Ha.

Dr. Lori To me, it's barely noticeable, but sounds like a tiny little laugh that a friend of mine has when she finds something amusing. It brings me a little smile because of that association :) I'm sorry for the pain it caused you when young, (I think I saw you mention that in another comment) and also sorry that people here are being rude to you about it. We all have our quirks, some more noticeable, some not so much, but it's what makes us uniquely human and lovable! BTW I'm new to your videos and am learning a lot!
