A great motivational post here Sat morning, must get rulers organised, I have two of those slotted holders, we had an elderly gentle man at our local aged care cottages that loved workingin wood, think he lost count of how many he made, most quilters here in our beautiful Riverland has one and we have 3 for our quilting group called Refresh and Bloom we meet weekly on Wed's 9:30-3:00 always a hoot, lots of scrappy quilts and charity quilts. We have just beginners up to professional quality but definitely NO QUILTING POLICE ALLOWED. One dear member has allowed us to set up her quilting frame so we are now all lined up to learn we have a Bernina 820 on the frame. Blessing to you all from down under.💕
I liked the floating shelves over the cutting space idea. If I had the room I would also use it to hold the cutting directions at eye level as I worked on a project. Kind of like a fabric recipe holder.
The six by twelve is my hands down favorite also. My next favorite is two and half by six. I also began quilting right at the introduction of the rotary cutter and odd plexiglass rulers!
The spiderweb scrappy quilt looks like a what you see when you look in a kaleidoscope. 😁

Perfect lesson on rulers, I have very basic rulers and all work well for what I sew. Thanks Alex always enjoy your show. 🇨🇦💕
A fun chat to listen to while I hand quilt! Thank you for posting and sharing your knowledge!
I started at the beginning of rotary cutters. I had strips and blocks cut individually out of plexiglass. We’ve come a long way baby.
Me too! Our timing was impeccable. Can’t imagine quilting without rotary cutters and rulers.
If you store large (12 inches +) vertically over time they bow and won't lie flat, I found this out the hard way - ouch.

Three months before he died, Michelangelo said, “I am still learning,” so you are in good company.
