Oh and Ricky, You win the prize for the best fly-on-the-wall videos of train movements. The train operating codes, the timings, the logos. Just great work. It really helps me to understand far better where all these trains go to / come from.

Thank you Ethan. Well, this is my third visit to Scotland. One was behind on a Deltic D9009 in 2016, the second was in 2018 via Edinburgh and Glasgow Central and this is my third trip to Scotland :-)

Thanks very much Arnold, happy to hear you have enjoyed the video.
Well, I think it can be either hit or miss for the HST sets at Glasgow Queen Street :-)

the 385s are the best thing on the Queen Street - Waverley route since the 47/7s and DBS0s.
However, i cannot comprehend how anyone would want to ride a 170 from Glasgow or Edinburgh to Inverness or Aberdeen. Thank goodness they've brought in the short re-engined HSTs, albeit none seemed to be working during this video, not sure why.

Built by Hitachi and they are awesome to ride on. Although, the ride quality can be a bit rough at times along some speedy sections of track. The InterCity7 HST sets are awesome to look at. They are apparently making them 5 carriages rather than 4. Yeah, I'm not too sure why they weren't any at Glasgow Queen Street at the time.

I think that the start of that video sums up GLQ nowadays with the old school GLQ (well old school to the likes of myself and you) with the Turbostars and then the new school right after in the shape of those 385s, which I might add, are almost the perfect replacement for the Turbostars IMO
But seeing 170407 in the BTP wrap, we take that as a dub

Oh yeah, I agree. The traction has changed soo much over the years nd seems to be lacking as well in those glory days of local hauled sets between Edinburgh and Glasgow Queen Street.
Those class 385's are great I agree but can be a bit of a rough ride on some areas reach top speeds :-)
