Abbie I've been following you for a few years now and I've noticed that your attitude and mental health is so much better. You seem so much happier overall. I love all your videos.if an item improves your sleep it's not a luxury it is a necessity. Sleep is important for mental health as well as hiking. I have two brs stoves.
I think the enan could do with the top door vent the same as the akto to help with condensation. For the money hilleberg really need to look into a redesign
I watched the Affric Kintail Way and it got me interested in case I have some time next summer to travel to Scotland. And Skye is another of my favorites so I can't wait for the video on Skye Trail!
No way! This morning I thought "It would be so cool if Abbie showed us the Hiking Kit she's using." and here it is! Thank you so much! You are such an inspiration ❤ I love hiking in the UK and especially the Highlands, but unfortunately I'm from Germany and can't visit as often as I would like. So thanks for taking me with you 🙂
Thankyou abbie, I found this video to be very helpful,!!! And I will always refer to anything tasty as Flavie from now on,😀 brilliant choice of words. 🤙👍
I love these kinds of videos Abbie. I always find something new to consider and the milk and juice powder are just that. I've struggled to find something which I can tolerate so definitely going to give these a go. Wishing you and Anna a healthy and happy 2024 filled with lots of adventures.
Get the mesh inner from Hilleberg for your Enan, (250.00 US and 18 oz) to replace the regular inner for non snow trips.... it solves your condensation issues while lightening the tent even further and is great for non-snow/terrible storm use. No need for a new tent the Enan is brilliant!
❤❤❤ that ancient lane you're in - there's something magical about old covered lanes - I'd love to immerse myself walking long distances along ancient packhorse/drovers/salt ways if that's possible. (You can get a rough idea of their age, in centuries, by counting the number of woody species in a 30 yard length) Given the miles you walk, info on your favourites is extremely valuable, thanks Abbie Stand outs that I was unaware of are the small comfort things - Cocoon Air-Core Pillow Hyperlight (I think I'm about to be converted ...p'raps its old age!) Decathlon Suncream Block Coconut Milk Powder (I'd use it in hot Muesli) Keediet Drinking Powder (love the concept - I wonder about tiny amounts of heavily concentrated liquids like vanilla essence too) All the best to you & Anna 🎄
I’ve got the BRS stove, it’s a great piece of kit. 😊 I’m having serious gear envy watching this 😉 Thanks Abbie for showing us what works for you. I value your expertise. Happy New Year. 🥳
I was watching this just now and thought: you are living the life I dream of living. Just wonderful. Hope you have a truly fantastic 2024 - and thank you so much for sharing your amazing adventures and expertise on here. Just LOVE your vlogs 😍🕉️🧡x
Thank you for sharing your kit. I'll be checking out the pillow for sure. I've just not been able to get along with my Sea To Summit one. And another vote for light sources to combat anxiety. I discovered early into my camping journey this year that being inside a cosy tent in the middle of a pitch black night can be a tad claustrophobic at times. This is immediately cured with a light source and allows me to get my bearings again and remind myself to breathe. Enjoy your 2024 journeys.
Great vid. One thing about the Darn Tough socks (as a Brit living here in USA)...they offer a LIFETIME GUARANTEE!!! If you get a hole in your sock, you can send the socks back and they send you a NEW pair at no cost!!! No receipt needed. Just the old socks! Amazing customer service. part of the reason why I purchased a couple of pairs, although they've shown no signs of wear thus far after 1-2 years.
Well, I live in the US and initiated a return. I put my socks in a tiny box and went to ups and opted for the cheapest shipping...$10....I get a new pair, of course, but definitely not for free (new pair is $25). USPS might have been cheaper, but I don't want to argue about using small piece of tape or whatever. Now sending the socks all across Atlantic to get a replacement pair seems unrealistic, unless I'm not aware of something 🤔
Love this video, Abbie! I found you several years ago when I was just starting out in my backpacking journey, and I’ve learned so many things from you. I incorporate lots of your tips, and I’m even doing the Laugavegur Trail this summer. I am also plant-based, so I appreciate the mention, and how you manage your food and drinks on the trail. I use those same methods, and it’s no problem at all. You’re amazing, and I appreciate you so much! 💚⛰️🌳
Having only recently discovered your channel, I think you are incredible! Being someone who suffers with mental health myself, I know the importance of getting outdoors and being in nature. I think it's amazing what you are doing to inspire people 🥰 I find your channel inspirational, as I'm sure many others do. I thoroughly enjoyed this video, as there's so much equipment out there it's fun to see what people's favourites are. I especially liked all the little bits and pieces, some great ideas there, so thank you for sharing this video 😊
Brilliant video.....think I've watched nearly every single one now. They constantly keep me motivated and inspired and also grounded ...you make things seem so achievable! I'm still walking just my local areas but who knows what the year will bring. 😊
Really useful video. The next kit I’m looking for is a water filter. The coconut powder is something I’ll definitely look into as well 🙂 thanks Abbie. Happy New Year 🎉
Got to love Abbie! Thank you for the video, loads of ideas now going into 2024. Some GPS equipment would be good for those through hikes into the wilderness!
Happy new year Abbie. You're vids are an inspiration to me and may you have a blessed 2024. I've sorted my equipment and am currently planning some wild camps in the spring before I take my son on the Yorkshire three peaks in May. You've inspired me to get back on the trails. Thank you and I'll be here watching your content as always
Hi there 👋 I enjoy your videos and that you keep it real. I travel the US via various wilderness trails, train and public transportation. I live in my Helleberg Akto and have little issues with condensation. I think it's because I often incorporate the use of a tarp, which also allows me to get in/out of the tent without getting wet. I also learned from watching Matti & Stina - dog sled tours and wilderness guides in Northern Sweden to open all vents, including the door, whenever possible to reduce condensation. One thing I think I will purchase from Helleberg is their mesh inner, which can be put up with or without the rain fly - nothing like sleeping out under the stars! 😊 Anyway, best wishes and safe travels in 2024 ❤
I can attest to the Stay Wild T-Shirts. Completed many hikes with it including a 100km Ultra Marathon. Anyone into long distance events will know the importance of a good fit to limit chaffing. Never had an issue with the shirt. Hoping for a blue colour one day........(just in case you see this Abbie).
I’m late getting here, but I enjoyed your video. As far as Enan condensation goes, have you tried using a ground sheet? I think most of the problem is the low pitch and the Enan sheet keeps things drier. I’m looking forward to watching more of your videos.
Abbie, you are wonderful and I really enjoyed your down to earth review of your 2023 kit. I was puzzled by the condensation issue you've had with your Enan as this is not something that I or friends have had. You've mentioned this with other tents in the past and I figure you are too experienced to pitch in daft places and you don't seem prone to exaggeration either. Then later you mention that you drink 5-6 litres each day on the trail - unless this flushes through you in the traditional fashion this makes me wonder if you respire a lot more water that most and this is behind your condensation issue. I mention this because it might point to some health issue that you should get checked out. ATB for 2024
Thanks for sharing. Another vote on the Darn Tough socks .. I've just tested their lifetime warranty - got a fault on the heel (after many miles of comfy hiking), sent photos to Darn Tough UK, got a replacement voucher approved. Happy days. You do have to send a photo of the socks cut up - I understand why - but it still feels a bit awkward environmentally.
Happy New Year to both you and Anna who plays an important part in your life, bless her. Also best New Year wishes to your great mum Pearl whose name often crops up in LDWA magazine 🎉
I have the Samsung S22 and it held up well to rain and being submerged. It has some waterproofness. I stopped using covers to protect from rain. You do need to clean the usb-c port before charging, if its wet. Plugs for the port should help, at least in rain.
Hi Abbie, I thought you may have been doing the Snowdonia Slate when I stopped (briefly) to talk to you from my car in Betws y coed. Looking forward to seeing the film, as a regular visitor to Snowdonia I've been considering this trail myself. ATB Mark.
Thanks for this content, really helpful as I have been looking for the trousers 😊 I have been walking and running and generally out more in my beautiful Cornwall. Having spent many holidays walking and camping I find this channel really inspiring I too have spent many hours outside on my own figuring out my head. It works for me. Happy travels for 2024 😊
👍 sun screen Boots kids sunscreen come in roll on and also scrape on also well regarded. Oat milk powder is worth a try. Been looking to replace my 20 year old Hillberg Akto was considering the Enan but have heard about more condensation problems than expected ( do you think it might be caused by the amount of water you need to drink?) am slowly slowly edging towards the Niak for the extra room. I’d love to hear more about your back issues and how zpacks helped. I developed sciatica last summer and have overcome, but am truly looking at my backpack.
Hi Abbie, great vid as always. Love your adventures, so inspiring. I too suffer with migraines, various medications, but dehydration and cheese seem to bring them on for me. Coffee can also be a trigger. Looking at lifestraw collapsible filter bottle. I tend to use water bladders, but reluctant to add any drink powder to them as I find they go mouldy. Maybe separate water bottle with electrolytes would be the answer. Best wishes for the new year. Will be purchasing a T shirt soon 😊
If you want to be condensation free, have a look at the Zpacks Duplex tent. Single skin, and 4 doors, so plenty of airflow. Yes, the price is bonkers at 700 dollars, but it's a great tent. I've used it for both the Scottish National trail, and SWCP, as well as many weekends in the Scottish hills. Hi Abby. Thanks for the video, great as always! Such a lovely person 😊 I’ve just got a Durston Xmid Pro 2 and really looking forward to getting out in it in 2024, thinking of heading out to NW Spain. A very happy new year to you ✌🏻
I remember your surprise when you first got the Enan that it had no upper rain vent and your disappointment with the condensation. (Akto bad, Enan worse in this respect?!)
Consider the Tarptent Moment DW for a new tent. It is very similar to the Hilleberg, but is double wall and better ventilated. Same set up, more or less. It may not be quite as bomber in harsh weather, but it will not get your stuff wet from condensation, at all.
Hi from Oz... Unfortunately Decathlon here don't have that sun screen here, but there are other firms with similar products. However Decathlon do a SPF50 long sleeved tee shirt that is very breathable...Kalenji . I bought one some time ago and now have 4... Down side? The document that came with them says their life time is 2 years.. does the SPF wear off ? I'd not be surprised.. be interested to see what your supplier says.. Oh the shirts are available in black or white.. white is cooler in the sun so that is what I have. These too snag on things.
Last I saw you were in a Terra Nova Compact tent. Yes the vestibule is larger in the Hilleberg Enan and it's a Hilleberg, but the weight and model is very similar to the Terra Nova. So why did you switch? I have the Terra Nova Competition which is an earlier version of the TN Compact. Admittedly I do not spend as much time in the wild as you do, but condensation has not been one of my headaches. So that's why I'm curious as to why you have moved away from a domestic UK brand. Sorry I mist you on Kungsleden. That would have been a rare sighting in my neck of the woods! 😅
Just wanted to highlight a piece of ‘not really kit (!) that I found - a ‘Solvitur Ambulando’ ring made by Peg and Awl. A very meaningful thing for those of us who get so much from walking in the outdoors. 💚
Your tent is pitched so low to the ground that you will always get a ton of condensation, my friend. Have you considered something like the Durston Xmid 2?
Abbie can you please tel me which navigation device or app you recommend. I'm planning the c2c and would love you advice on navigating this route. Pete

I love Abbie, her message and content, and I miss seeing her together with Anna. I hope they are both well.
I’ve been following you for a year or two and it’s great to see you becoming so positive and relaxed, long may it continue. 👍🏼
I watched the Affric Kintail Way and it got me interested in case I have some time next summer to travel to Scotland. And Skye is another of my favorites so I can't wait for the video on Skye Trail!
Thank you so much for your stunning and inspiring films this year. You seem so happy at the moment - wishing you a happy and healthy 2024 ❤
Bish bash bosh! I thought this video was excellent. Stay wild! 🐼
I have started saying bush bash bosh myself too!Copying my role model Abbie
Great video. The pillow looks neat. Darn Tough is great. They have a lifetime guarantee too!
Abbie, may you prosper further in 2024 🎉Thank you for your kind cause ❤
Thanks Abbie, I'm struggling with what kit to get atm and this has made me more aware of what's out there.
Glad it was helpful!
No way! This morning I thought "It would be so cool if Abbie showed us the Hiking Kit she's using." and here it is! Thank you so much! Thankyou abbie, I found this video to be very helpful,!!!
And I will always refer to anything tasty as Flavie from now on,😀 brilliant choice of words. 🤙👍
Hi Abby, I use a Sawyer Mini and a Lifestraw Go. I agree with your comments about the Sawyer. Thanks again for a great presentation.
Cheers Abbie, all the best for 2024 🎉
Thanks for another great video Abbie. ❤ remember we love you as you are. It's time you learnt to love yourself as we do.😊
I love Abbie. Been following for yrs and she never disappoints. Stay healthy and happy.
First class presentation and content, you even added links to gear, you really can’t make it easier for us.
Happy and safe 2024.
Happy new year!
I can’t recommend Darn Tuff socks highly enough, brilliant socks, worth every penny

Stand outs that I was unaware of are the small comfort things -
Cocoon Air-Core Pillow Hyperlight (I think I'm about to be converted ...p'raps its old age!)
Decathlon Suncream Block
Coconut Milk Powder (I'd use it in hot Muesli)
Keediet Drinking Powder (love the concept - I wonder about tiny amounts of heavily concentrated liquids like vanilla essence too)
All the best to you & Anna 🎄
Happy New Year Abbie 2024. I hope our paths will cross at some time.
Always love a kit video, I was convinced you would mention your lovely Red Mountain Equipment rain coat..HNY to you & Anna x
Actually, I forgot it 😂😂
like this video like your pervious Gear videos when you used to reveiw your gear after a 1-5 years of use
Great. Now I've gone and bought a Black Yak hat. It is lush though!
That tent has no ventilation, of course it's a rainforest inside. And 1kg is heavy. Get yourself a nice Durston X-Mid for 1/3 the price.
Thanks Abbie. Very interesting. Have a great walk tomorrow. Hope the rain stays away! ❤😊
Thank you! Happy New year!
I’ve got the BRS stove, it’s a great piece of kit. 😊 I’m having serious gear envy watching this 😉 Thanks Abbie for showing us what works for you. I value your expertise. Happy New Year. 🥳

You rock ✨🐳 Tarptent Scarp might be a good tent option - apparently handles condensation very well, and nice and spacious too.

Abbie, you are wonderful and I really enjoyed your down to earth review of your 2023 kit. Darn Tough are great socks for cold weather hiking. I like Injinji toe socks for hot weather treks as they protect my feet from blisters. Great video!
Happy New Year to both you and Anna who plays an important part in your life, bless her. Also best New Year wishes to your great mum Pearl whose name often crops up in LDWA magazine 🎉

Very helpful video thanks. Happy and healthy New Year to you all xx
Thank you for the great info!
Thank you for this video, very insightful 👍👍
Happy new year buddy!
Kind regards 😊
Thank you for the great video, it was really helpful. Happy New Year from down under !😊
Happy new year!
Love your videos. For your back injury; I would suggest the six moons designs swift v with the flight harness. Has done wonders for my back problems.

Great and honest advice, thank you.
Give Mighty oat milk powder a go, a new favourite for me !
Hi Abby. Thanks for the video, great as always! Such a lovely person 😊 I’ve just got a Durston Xmid Pro 2 and really looking forward to getting out in it in 2024, thinking of heading out to NW Spain. A very happy new year to you ✌🏻
Happy new year!
DarnTough Socks rock! Also they have a lifetime warranty. I've been trying to wear a hole in one for years, I've totally failed.

Happy New Year from Kentucky!
I have an extensive first aid kit but it didn't make the favs as is nothing special :)
I absolutely love your videos! How do you carry your camera?

Your tent is pitched so low to the ground that you will always get a ton of condensation, my friend.
Have you considered something like the Durston Xmid 2?
I suffer greatly from painful hands in the cold. What gloves have you found best?
@abbie what is the wide brim hat you wear?
Abbie can you please tel me which navigation device or app you recommend. I'm planning the c2c and would love you advice on navigating this route. Pete
Dear Abbie. Which version of the Parsec do you have? 20F?
I wonder how much better is Enan tent vs similar but cheaper Laser Compact 1?
