So good mate, thoroughly enjoyed reliving that day through this video and some good tips and images shared too. Thanks again for such a mint week in Scotland and hopefully we can organise something similar in the not too distant future!! 👍🏻
Yes, and if you guys do, let me know. I would love to join up with you both again.
@@QuietLightPhoto🙏🏻👍🏼
Cheers man, we need to arrange that wild camp 🏕️
Thanks Adam @QuietLightPhoto Yes, that would be awesome 👍
One of the reasons I absolutely love and subscribe Henry's channel is his upbeat persona which is clearly seen during these few seconds of the video. That being said, this was quite an informative bit of content Ian. Looking forward to seeing both you and Henry on future adventures.
I appreciate that! 👍
Your instructions on layers has to be the most concise and clear video I've seen.
Thanks much appreciated 👍
Thanks to you and Henry (and the others) for taking us along on these adventures in Scotland. The editing tip was a nice inclusion for those who don't do much post processing. The tip on checking the cleanliness of the lens was a really good one.
Glad you enjoyed it 👍
Even less than ideal circumstances can lead to great experiences and adventures in nature. And how great that we as photographers can even capture them for later memories. Thanks for this lesson!
Thank you 🙏
Thanks for putting a lot of energy in "feeding" up the machine, Ian. Always great to watch your stuff!😉✌
So nice of you 🙂
Great location. The photo of the rainbow in front of the mountain at the 12 minute mark is amazing!!
Glad you enjoyed it 🙂🙏
How to make the best of poor conditions - an excellent example and some great photos. Glad you enjoyed Scotland, I hope your next trip enjoys better weather.
Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
this is why I love living in Scotland (apart from the last two days where it has rained non stop!) beautiful images and fabulous technique for blending in Ps. Thanks Ian
Thanks so much 🙏
Some fantastic images here, particularly liked the waterfall shot at 11:46 and the rainbow on the mountain was just an incredible sight. As you say putting yourself out there can really pay off even in such gnarly weather if you are persistent and stick around. Tremendous video.
Thanks so much
Great photographs. Wonderful scenery. And , a bonus of having 3 of the best TH-cam videographers in the same place.
Thanks so much 🙏
What a great trip for you! That rainbow shot was really special and different! Thanks for all the tips.
Many thanks 🙏
What a beautiful place !! Mountain, waterfalls, rainbow, indeed the conditions were difficult but still a place to return !! Also interesting to hear Adam and Paul's comments. By the way, I obtained your presentation on Landscape composition, you have done an excellent work which leads me even more to question myself before i take a photo. Thanks Ian for you help.
Thanks Alain, that means a lot buddy 👍
3 of my favourite photographers on YT. Great to see. Love your work 👏
Thank you so much 😀
The photos with the rainbow are stunning! I live in a sunny place in Italy, but after I have seen your videos I feel I'll go out to shot photos everytime it rains :D
Epic location Ian. Thanks for letting us tag along with you and the guys.. Yeah, you have to find a way to deal with the changing conditions. For the past two days I've been trying to catch the sun dropping behind trees in the background of my shot and both times clouds rolled in at the last minute taking out the sunlight. I'll try again tomorrow. I'm lucky the area is quite close to home. I still have to check the shots I did get as the sun briefly broke through the clouds, but, perhaps not enough to really work. It's a great location and well worth giving it another go... Cheers Ian
Keep trying and i'm sure you will get the conditions that you hope for 👍
You are an editing wizard! Thank you.
Scotland and clouds, even rain - that's the scenery I love. Tried it in summer, but really not the same at all. But now I'm in the tropics and having to completely rethink my photography.
I bet, sounds like fun though 👍
These videos are so enjoyable to watch. Great location!
Glad you like them!
absolutely unbelievable photos, and thanks for the tip in photoshop 😄
Happy to help! and thanks for watching 👍
WOW! Some killer photographs!! Thanks for taking me along!
Thanks for watching 👍
I enjoyed the videos you, Ian, and Henry shared of your trip to Scotland.
Glad you enjoyed it
Some stunning photos Ian. Thanks for taking us on our adventure
My pleasure 👍
Enjoyed the video as usual Ian.
It looks like you and Henry had a great week in good old Bonnie Scotland.
Great image's as usual.
Look forward to the next one.
It’s been great to follow you and Henry on this trip. Congratulations on the panoramic shot with the rainbow! What a stunning capture! And without those conditions, it wouldn’t have been possible. Keep up the great work with your channel, Ian.
Thanks so much 👍
Great tutorial on layers and how important it is to align the layers. Thank you for explaining why the image you chose to edit was not a good image. Great images! Keep up the good work!
I love that location, was up there for sunset on 31st December 2019, the views were amazing!
I have thoroughly enjoyed this Scotland series, you seem to have really enjoyed the experience and have come away with some amazing photographs and memories. Shame I missed out on the limited edition Scotland prints, will need to be faster next time!
Many thanks! sorry you missed out.
Great video Ian, did love the rainbow shots, really superb...Well done. Colin Devon.
Thank you for another inspiring video, Ian!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks for sharing the mini tutorial on blending , super useful to me as I e just started to use photoshop for some features rather than lightroom .
Glad it was helpful! 👍
You caught some wonderful moments of light on this trip, Ian. Well worth the effort, plus the video as well. Thank you for sharing your Scottish adventure with us all🇦🇺
My pleasure
LOL, TH-cam Auto Places thinks "Sharp Photo & Portrait Lab" in Au Clare Wisconsin has something to do with this video... Not sure TH-cam has that AI dialed in yet.
Ordered the print pack, looking forward to it. Thanks!
Thank you for the support, much apreciated 👍
Another great video Ian. Looking forward to my trip to Scotland in September and seeing those wonderful locations you've visited. And thanks also for running through Ps step by step; it's something I get a bit daunted by.
Have fun on your trip and thanks for watching
Thanks! I was wondering about how to go about it just a couple of weeks back. Now I know!
Lovely images!
Glad you like them!
Rather than throwing away the waterfall photo could you have used a linear or radial gradient to lighten up the mountain to draw the viewers eye there?
Besides the waterfall here, it looks like a great area to hike in those mountains in the background. What is the name of the peak of the mountain in first part of the video. Are there hiking trails to these mountains?
when is the best time to visit England and Scotland?
Anytime except the summer school holidays, things are typically a lot more expensive during those 6 weeks 👍
When you say it's not a keeper, do you literally delete it? Although maybe not a portfolio shot, It's one I would hang on to.
I would keep it but not share it online anywhere 👍
Very usefull tips Ian to process 2 images in PS 😊
Glad it was helpful!
When I clicked on this, I was hoping for some tips for getting those sharper shots in "extreme conditions" actually in-camera.
I wonder who pays for such (good!) pictures and if it is possible to live from that.
just watched this a second time Ian, great work, your collaborations are a lot fo fun, of course your solo treks are fun also, but you clearly have a lot of fun doing these collabs and I can't wait to see you do more.. and I love the 3x photo "pack" idea, that's going to sell out quickly I am sure.. cheers from Sydney ( @dez_blanchfield )
Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
Beautiful photos, amazing scenery
Glad you enjoyed it
