      My dislike is more about his projected invincibility than with Green himself.

      @@CHI-JORDAN-CHI.. Your statement has been proven false.
      To fully appreciate just how effective steroids are at building muscle, one should turn to the research of Shalendar Bhasin, the world's foremost authority on the effects of exogenous testosterone (steroids) on male body composition.
      In one study, 35 young men were randomised to one of five groups to receive weekly injections of testosterone enanthate-a commonly used steroid-in amounts that varied from 25 to 600 mg/week. After 20 weeks, the men who received 600 mg/week had gained, on average, 8 kg of muscle, and lost, on average, 1 kg of body fat. These figures are impressive enough, but the real eye-opener is that the men were instructed NOT to participate in strength-training or endurance exercise during the course of the study. Essentially, these results could have been achieved while sitting on the couch. Moreover, 600 mg/week of testosterone enanthate is the amount used by most beginner or first-time steroid-users. Experienced users frequently report injecting in excess of 1000 mg/week of testosterone enanthate.
      In another study, Bhasin randomised men to one of four conditions: 600 mg/week of testosterone enanthate and no exercise, 600 mg/week of testosterone enanthate and standardised exercise, placebo and no exercise and placebo and standardised exercise. At 10 weeks, the men given 600 mg/week of testosterone enanthate who did NOT exercise had put on more muscle mass than the men who were not on testosterone and who did exercise. The implications of this research are hard to ignore: other things being equal, a person cannot out-train, out-diet or outperform steroids.

    All those NFL's Fastest Man competitions that Darrell Green won were 60 yards long. The 100 yard dash isn't Darrell's best event. The opposite was always true for guys like Herschel Walker and Willie Gault; neither was very good in the 60 but excelled in the longer 100. Fun fact: in the very first NFL's Fastest Man Competition, Willie Gault knew he would struggle in a 60 yard dash so he lobbied to have the event extended to 100 yards but lost the appeal.

Also, watch the race closely, Walker lead from start to finish (40, 60, 100). On a separate note, Walker and Jackson both had unbelievable blistering speed. Bo's legend is bigger than life, but the truth is Walker was faster and the better more durable college player.

He was alluding to those 4.1 claims for guys like Deion, Bo, etc are actually bs.

    • @gmaxsfoodfitness3035
      @gmaxsfoodfitness3035 8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@tramainesmith6067 There is a video with Deion in it which shows the actual written times for his 40 yard dash. Two time keepers clocked Deion at 4.27 secs and two others clocked him at 4.29 and 4.31. This was hand-timed so if you add the approximate 0.24 sec delay to get an estimated electronic time, that would be about 4.41 secs. That's fast but not top 10 these days.
      On an ESPN video which they uploaded to YT, Bo talked about his dash being right before track practice with an Olympian so he didn't want to do the dash at all and just entertained the people there with a not so serious 4.3 secs electronic time. He says his coach told him to stop playing with those people and get serious so Bo told someone to bring his bags outside because he was going to do his 40 and run out the door. There were people with stop watches and there was a proper electronic timing setup (most likely infrared beam like Brower speed gates). Bo went full speed through the next 40 and was out the door immediately before they could tell him a time. He said he found out after track practice what his times were. Supposedly some people who hand timed him had it as low as 3.9 secs or 4 flat but, according to what Bo was told, the electronic timing system clocked him at 4.09 secs. That's what he remembers he was told. I personally don't think he was as fast or faster than the current 60m world record holder and fastest recorded 40 yard dash record holder Christian Coleman who clocked 4.12 secs back in 2018, the same year he broke his own 60m record with a 6.34 secs time (Christian Coleman's 40 yard dash is on TH-cam too if you haven't seen it). I do think Bo could've definitely clocked 4.3 or maybe 4.2 has his peak but we don't have any record of his times other than word of mouth. With Deion, the card with his recorded times is still available.

    I was going to say that's world record time ... but then I rewinded the part and looked at the words again. It's not 100 meters, it's 100 yards!
    Otherwise, Herschel Walker would be the fastest man on Earth. Even Usain Bolt's record is 9.58
    Yards are similar to meters, but it's ultimately a huge difference. 100 yards is 91.44 meters.
