that will be true until people get with the program and realise that the days of working class vs mid class with tory and labour are gone and we have moved to rich internationists vs nationalists. They would need to vote for nationalists to get things better. Until these voters realise that things will just get harder and harder in Britain and the UK will seem to be doing more and more irrational things that make no sense to them ; whereas in reality the UK is jumping to the tune of internationalists and globalists.

We are never going to be resilient to global shock when we depend so much on other countries. 1 person uses anywhere from 1-10 acres to live accounting for everything from food to other resources. We in the UK have 0.8 of an acre per person as opposed to france with a similar population who average 2.7 of an acre. The USA come in at 7.4 acres.

We will always be dependent on imports. We're in the north atlantic so we have very short growing seasons for crops where many countries can grow year round. All our mineral and oil resources are privately owned so the UK has no more legal right to them than any other country. Manufacturing everything here in small factories will always be more expensive than huge factories around the world (including here) and exporting globally.

The above comment I was replying to implies that current Labour will be as bad for the country as the last 14 Years of Tories and that it will be similar under the leadership of a different person more than a decade ago.
I'm saying that the last 14 Years have been worse for britain, the UK under Blair wasn't that bad, far from perfect, but I think saying that they're both the same neoliberal globalising Eton educated elite is just not true.
Nothing will change will FPTP voting but blaming both side does nothing. Labour will will the election. But we probably won't be rejoining the EU any time soon for a variety of reasons, that's 4% less economic growth per year, every year, for the foreseeable future.
Because of Cameron and Boris, Oh and Farage. But When Labour went more left wing they picked Corbyn which left them in no-mans land in the polls. Only by going back to a boring 'safe' neoliberal approach that might appear similar to the tories in some areas, did they claw back economic credibility from the tories in the polls.
Kier is boring but trusted. And that's what the UK needs other than PR.

Why this country wont look after itself and vote for people who will is beyond me. This isnt from a right wing framing, I want money spent on things that will actually improve the country instead of lining business barons pockets and caring about whatever america does when our own citizens are struggling. The difference being is that the whole civilisation needs to be equipped to a standard of resilience. When austerity has dismantled the efficiency of our public services then this is the real problem in times of war.
