      There’s also the fact the reformed religion can’t excommunicate. That gives a major reason for the Catholics to join Crusades, even if they offer almost nothing. Overall, Jon really didn’t change the religion enough, and the changes he did make are a bad combo, Spiritual faith head and Great Holy Wars, because the faith head’s AI spams it.

      Blame it on the fact Jon barely changed the faith when he reformed it, and the changes he did make, Spiritual faith head and Great Holy Wars, is an awful combo.
      Also, most vassals probably still follow the unreformed faith, so they can’t even join.

    Jon, it's a bug in the game with the ransoms. When you take stewardship perks, the ransom number jumps up, but the game still only pays the base price despite saying they'll pay more. Ironically, when they don't have the full amount they say they will pay, they actually will pay what they say. So while you'll never get 255 for a duke, you can get 200+ if they have 200+ gold but less than 255.

I rarely appoint incompetent vassals to council because I can usually improve relationships in other ways while hiring characters most suited for the positions. In this case you have a vassal who will make you more money. That said, if I didn't have a level 21 Steward, I may be able to bring one in by marrying them into my court. This bug is definitely related to the selling hooks perk and is definitely a bug.
    Basically,
    the developers thought it would be nice to save you the hassle of
    ransoming for hooks and then selling the hooks by combining it but
    forgot to save the actual money in the ransom amount variable.
    What
    you see in the ransom window is how much you'd get for the hook, but
    when you actually get paid you only receive what you'd receive for a
    normal ransom. To get around it for now, just ransom for the hook and
    then sell the hook.

    Bug report: We are aware of the issue, it has already been added to our bug database.
    Issue here is that the Perk Golden Obligations is mistakenly inflating the ransom values in the window, but you always get the correct amount of gold.

    • @petertrudelljr
      @petertrudelljr 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I thought that Golden Obligations was reporting correctly, as it's giving you the total of what you'd get for the weak hook. It's just not GIVING you that amount if you ransom them. I've resorted to going through all the trouble to ransom for the hook and then cash that in for the full amount.

  • @benjaminmatt253
    @benjaminmatt253 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Jon, when you have the Golden Obligations perk there is a bit of a glitch when you ransom prisoners. The only way to get the money it shows is to ransom them for a hook and then demand payment for said hook. The devs intended for this to be done automatically, which is why the amount of the ransom is higher, but it doesn't actually work as intended. You need to do it manually.
