Actors who cut their teeth in silent films sure knew something about performance. The eyes, my God, the eyes! Thank you Anna Imhof.

Thank you, Anna. I fell for him the moment I heard his voice, and the older he got the better he looked, to me. Beautiful tribute, wish I'd known him.

Thank you for this post. Mr. Coleman was a beautiful man. He became more amazing as he aged. My favorite scene is when he kisses the lady's thumb, I nearly lost my mind. He was one of a kind.

Am in the middle of watching Tale Of Two Cities, and I was drawn to this actor so I had to look him up. Thank you for posting this beautiful video. It makes me definitely want to look up more of his movies! Such an expressive face! Those eyes, though. 😉

I remember the first first time I saw a picture of Ronnie... I was so intrigued I watched almost his entire filmography in a few months. I couldn't stop swooning about his eyes! They're so sad and deep. Tale of Two Cities is one of this best roles, and I hope it won't be your last Ronnie film! I'm always thrilled when people discover him.

I thought Ronald Colman had the greatest male speaking voice in the English language. There is a musical quality and precision to his voice. He pronounces every syllable. I would rank Herbert Marshall and James Mason in the elite class as well and, I'm sure, others as well.

Hey, good to know there's someone else out there who still knows the name Herbert Marshall!

The Worlds Greatest Actor in my Opinion, My Grandfather knew Ronald Colmans Father . I would have changed the music to James Dewar “ Stumble Down Romancer or Robin Trower Daydream, or Lost In Love By Robin Trower/Dewar .

I always thought he looked like a mix of Burt Lancaster and Clark Gable.

    • @MyLovelyDeadFriends
      @MyLovelyDeadFriends  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

Really? Gable I see, but not Lancaster. To me he looks like a Caucasian Toshiro Mifune, or rather Mifune looks like an Asian Ronald Colman. Back in the day people thought Tyrone Power looked a lot like him.

Ahh... How have I never come across this before?
I’m just beginning to get into Ronald Colman’s movies. In fact, just yesterday I saw my first of his movies - “The Winning of Barbara Worth”! It was a great movie, too, I absolutely loved it. Actually, I went into it expecting to root for Gary Cooper (love him to bits), but... then I saw the other actor. More specifically, his eyes were what drew me in. There’s just something about them. There’s just something about HIM.
I would love to see more of this man, so I’m afraid I’ll have to pester you again, like I did for Jean - are there any movies that you can recommend to me?
Great job on your video, as always, Anna!

hey gale, nice to hear from you again!
believe it or not, THE WINNING OF BARABRA WORTH was my first ronnie film, too! when i first discovered him i saw a picture of him in that film and he looked so gorgeous that i decided that's where i would start.
yes, it's all in the eyes. they are so deep and beautiful and they can be very sad, too.
i have seen most of his films by now, so i'll gladly give you some recommendations. my favorite is probably RANDOM HARVEST, a true tearjerker with greer garson as his leading lady. THE PRISONER OF ZENDA is very good, too, more of an adventure with some swashbuckling, and he plays a double role. i really love him in silent comedies, HER SISTER FROM PARIS and HER NIGHT OF ROMANCE are very funny (and he's so adorable in those). CYNARA is a good one, too, with kay francis. one of his finest performances is in A TALE OF TWO CITIES.
let me know how you liked them in case you check any of them out!

I never saw too many films of this fine actor, and then only on television. As a youngster, I only saw pictures of him in movie magazines etc. partly because I was born at a time when, more or less, his fame and popularity was on the wane and partly not having enough pocket-money to afford the cinema, but he even then struck me as a handsome, charming and magnetic personality and that was very much the case when I finally did see him in films. Thank you for posting this very fine tribute.
