The Fan Films on TH-cam covering Jason, His Father, the Return of Survivors (and their Friends/Family. AWESOME 👍🏻) and Tommy Jarvis is simply AMAZING 😮🤯❤️
Same here! I absolutely adore it. I think a lot of people don’t like it for the more comedic direction it took the franchise. As well as some ridiculous moments. But I just have an absolute blast with it. I think freddy is hilarious in it and still has a slightly sinister edge than his part 5 and 6 counterparts.
It's insane ppl feeder 5 or new nightmare over it. It's hard to live up to dream warriors but I'm ways it lived up to it and honestly is my favorite one. Love the MTV freddy
Freddy’s revenge gets too much hate! Jesse, Lisa, and Grady are all amazing main characters. The pool scene is fun. I like that it’s essentially a possession film - which explains why Freddy is in the real world so much ( he’s using Jesse’s body ) it just makes perfect sense to me. Definitely in my top 5.

Freddy’s Dead without a doubt is the worst. I found nothing enjoyable about it. Not to mention people survived who had no business surviving and 3D was a scam
One thing I like about Elm Street 2 is it is the first time Freddy kills someone with the glove - in the same shot. Yeah, Tina was sliced, but by an invisible glove.
Stumbled upon your channel yesterday & watched the FRIDAY & HALLOWEEN rankings & thought to myself, “Where is his ELM STREET ranked video?” And BOOM, next day, here we are.
I can’t believe how close my ranking is to Rotten Tomatoes.😃 I actually have the top 2 switched. Yes, I know, I go against the norm.😂 New Nightmare is my true favorite. I thought it was Heather Langenkamp’s best performance. I love the emotional work and all of the physicality work they gave her to do. That funeral scene! Freddy attacking her in her bedroom! That incredible freeway scene! That AWESOME slide! That final fight with Freddy! Loved every bit of it. And you can see how much she’s grown as an actress. And she was an absolute knockout in it!!😃 Yes, I know everyone thinks I’m bonkers for liking it more than the original and that’s okay.☺️
New Nightmare was the first NOES movie I actually watched. I knew the Freddy character by reputation, as most 80s babies did. And WCNN scared the crap out of me. It was dark, scary, and SERIOUS. the Hansel and Gretel element was fun. I had nightmares for a couple of weeks… A few years later I finally saw the rest of the series. Imagine my surprise when I saw how silly and frankly, not scary most of the films were. Even the original was lacking compared to WCNN. I’m for sure in the minority, but I find the original to be pretty mid.
New Nightmare ranks 8 for me (Freddy's Dead ranking 9), but the NOVELIZATION of New Nightmare ranks #10 for me due to the cringe of the author trying to wedge themselves into the story too.
I think Nightmare 2 is now the most overrated movie in franchise. Freddy is hardly in it, his backstory is convoluted, the nightmares are boring (and not at all gory or scary) and his "freddy pool party" is even lamer than the exploding bird. This felt more like a rushed poltergeist sequel than a nightmare on elm street.

Great video. This is my first time here. I followed you as soon as you said like make more movies. People are always so quick to hate on every sequel or prequel but when there is a good idea I want more of it and I am a massive nightmare on elm street fan and I’d love to see another one cause 2010 was 14 years ago! I bet the effects would be insane. I’m also a believer that when they recast a roll you can compare things. Easily the best example and I know this isn’t horror but the massive hate on Jared Letos Joker when being compared to Heath Ledger. It’s two entirely different like timelines and stories.
Freddy Krueger needs a Versus Movie against Michael Myers... Halloween Ends shouts for Freddy vs Michael or Freddy Krueger vs Lorey Strode vs Michael Myers... The only 2 Titles to use would be perfect which are 👇 A Nightmare On HaddonField Street 💯 & Halloween A Nightmare on HaddonField Street💯 (Freddy Brings Michael Myers Back) Both of them Titles Makes Sense because Michael Myers Spreaded Enough Fear to Summon Freddy Krueger into the Town of HaddonField... So when Lorey Strode and Allyson goes to sleep they Wake and Look out the window at Michael Myers, That's back for Revenge after he got Crushed by the Car Crusher Machine,... When they look out the window They see unmasked Corey Cunningham in Blue boiler outfit thats supposed to look like 1978 Tony Moran Michael Myers or they will see Michael Myers the Old man that looks like a Cannibal from Wrong Turn 1. ... Then when Lorey Strode or Allyson backs away from the window they Backwards walk into Freddy Krueger or Tyler Manes 6'9 Michael Myers.. they Then Lorey Strode or Allyson wakes up in a Diner or Fast Food Restaurant but Losing their Appetites because of what Freddy Krueger will Leave them on their Plates that came out the Nightmare... We Need Halloween Ends sequel.. Freddy vs Lorey vs Michael A Nightmare On HaddonField Street 💯

Having New Nightmare at #6 is bizarre to me, and your explanation actually didn't explain anything (for me). You pick apart a lot of things, including the writing, and then praise Nightmare 2, where Freddy is defeated by the power of love (sorry, but as a screenwriter, New Nightmare is actually the 2nd best script in the franchise; your criticisms of the script are accurate, but you are far more generous to other entries). Complaining about Freddy not looking like Freddy is also odd to me, because you fail to acknowledge that Freddy is not in this movie. What you are seeing is the real life demon that the fictional Freddy was based upon. Not saying you cannot criticize the character design, but calling it a Freddy design is factually false. Even when I disagree with you, I usually see your perspective after you explain it, but this time the explanation honestly came off as somebody who doesn't REALLY understand the movie (only saying it comes off that way, not that it IS that way). Still respect you, though. This inevitably happens sometimes, though I personally would have acknowledged your take as somewhat of a hot one. 9. Freddy's Dead (1/10, it is unrelentingly, bafflingly awful) 8. Nightmare 2 (3/10, I appreciate the gay subtext, but completely ignoring Craven's lore is disrespectful, and Freddy being defeated by the power of love is unintentionally hilarious.) 7. Remake (4/10, Haley is good with what they gave him, but the dreams are very uncreative, the CGI is atrocious, and making Freddy explicitly a p*do was a horrible decision.) 6. Nightmare 4 (5/10, it is a good music video, but definitely not a horror movie at all) 5. Nightmare 5 (5/10, my reason for placing it this high involves delving into a politically loaded topic I am not getting into on TH-cam) 4. Freddy vs Jason (6/10, despite bad teen performances and some filler, it gives you exactly what it promises) 3. Nightmare 3 (8/10, for all the reasons you gave) 2. New Nightmare (8/10, the smartest script, the best acting, and dark in the right ways) 1. The OG (9/10, do I even need to explain?)
I wasn't a fan of 2 until one Halloween when I did a haunted hayride and at the end we were led into a tent where a death Metal band was playing with the movie being projected on the wall.
The remake beat out Freddy's Dead? That's harsh. Freddy's Revenge has moved up my rankings over the years, in the same way Superman 3 and Batman & Robin have. Not a great or really even good movie, but I have a good time with it. 4 and 5 get pretty interchangeable and forgettable as time goes on, but 1 and 3 always bring the noise. And Freddy v Jason I still get a kick out of. Can't believe it's over 20 years old
1. Freddy’s revenge (scariest Freddy, “yeah she’s female and u want to sleep with me”) 2. Dream master(watch the most and love the music) 3. Dream warriors (great kills, music, great characters) 4. Freddy vs Jason (best of both worlds,Freddy back scary less goofy) 5. Original( the birth of Freddy) 6. Freddy’s dead( enjoy some the goofiness + “map says we’re f*cked🤣 7. Dream child( only 3 kills, Jacob was popped asl wasn’t worth keeping, good scenery tho 8. Remake(micro naps, darker, but don’t like the Freddy could be innocent or cgi) 9. New nightmare( just a hanstel & Gretel story with Freddy recreating kills from previous movies but I do like real life concept)
Loved hearing your thoughts. I personally love 4 and the ending with Freddy getting torn apart. I know the reflection thing is weird, but I write it off that it's actually Alice's belief in it that makes it work.
What kind of weird take is that lol despite the homoerotic stuff, part 2 has pretty good gore effects and Freddy is actually menacing compared to the sequels plus the story isn't that bad
I just found this channel about a week ago and I gotta say you make really good stuff! Hope to see you at 100k subscribers. I love Freddy Krueger, but because he's so overpowered the way they beat him in every movie feels very anticlimactic to me. I'd love to see someone write a movie with a really solid way to beat Freddy and then write the rest of the script around that
Just remember kids...Freddy Krueger was the first one to kill Captain Jack Sparrow. Also, the behind the scenes were great. The young actors,it was their first movie and they all got along. They had fun filming.Robert Englund was doing the method acting thing, and he didn't really socialize with the other actors, but hes a kind, nice down to earth person.
1. A Nightmare On Elm Street 2. Freddys Revenge 3. Dream Warriors 4. The Dream Child 5. The Dream Master 6. Remake 7. Freddy v Jason 8. A New Nightmare 9. Final Nightmare (I have no memory of this film, though I used to own it)
My Ranking 1. 3 Dream Warriors 2. Nightmare On Elm Street 1984 3. Freddy V Jason 4. New Nightmare 5. Freddy's revenge (Underrated IMO) 6. Part 4 Dream Master 7. Part 5 Dream child (Also under rated) 8. Way, Way down on the list the Remake
This franchise may have rated R movies but the core audience has always been very under 17 as in 12-15. The only way to find out if it was liked by its intended audience is box office receipts. The oldest RT reviews for the 1st film are from 2000. They didn't go easily dig and collect reviews from when it came out 15 years ago. Included Review from 2003 by some random dude: "Despite lame sequels the original is a classic of modrer horror." .... Not Included Review from 1984 by NYT: "It puts more emphasis on bizarre special effects, which aren't at all bad."
For me 1. NE 4 Dream Master 2. NE 1 3. NE New Nightmare 4. NE 3 Dream Warrior 5. F vs J 6. NES 2010 7. NES 2 Freddy's Revenge 8. NES 5 Dream Child 9. Freddys Dead
Sigh. I had trouble with this. A lot of trouble. Some of these I ranked NOT on an A Nightmare On Elm St. movie but as something else. 1.) A Nightmare On Elm St. 2.) Dream Warriors. 3.) Freddy's Revenge 4.) Freddy's Dead ( This one might be against what almost everyone thinks, but I think of not as an A Nightmare On Elm St. film but as a horror comedy. Franchise film? It is terrible, but as a simple horror comedy I think it is pretty great.) 5.) Freddy Vs. Jason ( I don't like that early 2000s look. The blue tinge and everything, also Jason doesn't look great. However Freddy looks great and Robert England does great as usual. When it makes it to the end the VS. fight is great. The corn field fire scene was pretty nice idea. Freddy's plan backfiring and basically just have a temper tantrum was pretty fun.) 6.) A New Nightmare on Elm St. ( The idea is great, some of the acting is fine, some of it not. A lot of smaller great ideas. Even though it wasn't Freddy, the look of the creature posing of Freddy wasn't that great but props for trying a new look. Not all the references to the original looked the best. It was a pre-amble to a style that was done much better later on.) 7.) A Nightmare On Elm St. Remake. ( Jackie was just fine with his regards to playing Freddy. Other problems but that wasn't one of them. A few ideas I thought was horrible and some of the CGI as well. Writing could have been better.) 8.) Dream Master ( This goes for both Dream Master and Dream Child. Some great scenes, still looked great in the 80s style, however I always have trouble getting through them. The both feel a little bit more boring? Or something. Just trouble keeping invested through them. Ideas are great, look is great, some great scenes but over all a little tiring.) 9.) Dream Child ( A little more tiring more tiring than the previous.) This was hard and some can be subject to change.
Totally agree on Part 2. One of my favorites in the franchise. My hot take; Just not a fan of Part 3. The "superpowers"...stupid. Some of the writing; "In my dreams I'm beautiful...and bad." AWFUL! And people may say that it was the 80's but no. I was there in the 80's. It was cheesy and bad then. Heather's performance wasn't as good as her other 2 outings...Just don't care for this movie.
Same here. Part 3 and Part 4 are pretty much tied as my favorite, but Part 4 just slightly edges it out for just having the most fun with the concept. I think freddy is hilarious in this movie while still being slightly sinister. I also love the creativity in it
1-dream warriors---Just perfect movie. its my top 3 favorite movies of all time 2-nightmare 1---not much can say its a classic very well done 3-new nightmare---was original and the reality and hollywood aspect too was so cool 4-dream master----extra points best horror soundtrack 5-freddys revenge----this movie scared me as a kid the opening bus scene freaked me out. 6-freddys dead----its just cheezy 90's fun 7-remake----it gets too much hate its compared too much to original. As a stand alone horror its a good flick 8-freddy vs jason---annoying characters and some stupid things like jason scared of water. Its a fun movie but not one I flock back to watch 9-dream child----even though some great kills the plot was so stupid.
A Nightmare on Elm Street is my favorite horror franchise despite its flaws. I love this franchise so much!!!! I’m glad to see you making a video about this franchise😌
What if the so-called remake was actually an origin or prequel to the rest? Nancy Thompson foind a journal from the previous victim or survivor, the other Nancy was freddys first target, Freddy looks different in every film, so why wouldnt he look like a real burn victim in his first attack as a dream demon? Any thoughts
Dreams warriors for me is the best . I love the orginal but part 3 expanded the mythology, the kills are fantastic ( puppet walk / welcome to prime time bitch ) , the freddy snake ,the brilliant dokken song that gets you pumped .
#1 dream warriors #2 dream dream master #3 freddys revenge #4 dream child #5 nightmare on elm street og #6 freddys dead #7 freddy vs jason #8 nightmare on elm street reboot #9 new nightmare Ik so many people love the original but for me its never really hit that hard like i feel like the intrest kinda falls off after johnny dep gets killed like its always been kinda ehh to me Dream warriors has the best storyline and kills to me the most memorable forsure dream master for me as a kid was the scariest the music combined with the fact that all the characters seem the most seperated from the rest of the world in this one compared to the others like it feels like a high level of isolation where its like slowly everythings coming down to the final girl being completely alone freddys revenge probably one of the most unique to me alongside being extremely memorable and nostalgic for me growin up dream child was my favorite as a kid just cause of the story the kid basically turning into a mini freddy and the way freddy was killed it was like the first one that made me not as afraid of freddy and kinda start to like him as a villian in a way freddys dead i just like the storyline and the character who we believe is the main character his whole introduction and way of getting killed off was pretty wild then the video game scene to me was always kinda fun to me as a kid with johnny dep givin the commercial of the brain on drugs all that was just kinda funny and intresting and its just nostalgic to my child hood freddy vs jason just sticks with me mainly for the nostalgia big part of my childhood fun movie for sure i liked the reboot just not as much as any of the other movies and new nightmare i didnt like at all really it was okay but it just didnt even really feel like freddy at all and it just didnt do it for me now something to take into account is im a younger Freddy fan and i grew up watching all these movies as a little kid like from a toddler till probably about 4 and thats when Freddy started to be scary to me and i started to actually understand what i ment to be scared of something and then i didnt really start getting the courage to revisit the movies occasionally till about 6 then more frequently at around 10 then around mid to late teens is when i started watching the movies often enough to see em all in chronological order so my picks are in some ways tied to the level of nostalgia the movies have with me and then certain ones are just based on how good they are like dream warriors id and part 2 id probably seen as a really young kid but didnt really remember them because i was so young so those didnt stick with me till my late teens to early adult hood but are some of the best and dream master was like i said the first one that really really scared the shit outta me at around like 5 or 6 so yea i got my reasons
Agree with rotten Tomatoes top 3. For me the 1rst , Dream Warriors, ans New Nightmare. Those are the ones that I really like. Could care less about the other ones in the franchise.
So this is the third one of these videos of yours I watched, and overall I really like them, but I think you should do the movies in release order rather then the order you do them, adds a bit of suspense, and that way you don't know where the last movie is ranked at. But that might just be me.
Know everybody go say part 1 yes I agree.but i feel dream warrior is 2nd favorite and dream master is 3rd favorite and new nightmare is last favorite 😉 👍
This is hands-down my favorite slasher franchise. However, definitely have a more unique and controversial ranking. 1. Dream Master 2. Dream Warriors 3. A Nightmare on Elm Street 4. Freddy’s Revenge 5. Freddy vs Jason 6. Freddy’s Dead 7. Dream Child 8. Remake 9. New Nightmare While New Nightmare is well-made, I’m just bored to tears by it. It is half an hour too long, has barely any kills, and the ones we get are kinda lame, and there’s barely any Freddy in it. I’ve just never liked it.
For me: 1. Part 3, Dream Warriors (Amazing chaos) 2. Part 4, The Dream Master 3. Part 1 4. Wes Craven’s New Nightmare 5. Part 2, Freddy’s revenge 6. Part 6, Freddy’s dead (I think it’s really funny and I appreciate it) 7. Freddy VS Jason 8. Remake (Jackie Earle Haley was actually really good and creepy) 9. Part 5, The Dream Child
Non-canon: Remake (forget it exists) 8 - Part 6 7- New Nightmare 6 - Freddy v Jason 5 - Part 5 4 - Part 2 3 - Part 4 2 - Part 3 1 - Part 1 The first 5 were great fun, even Part 2. From 6 onward, it was too dumb to enjoy. Freddy vs Jason was okay as a spinoff. 3 is my favorite of the comedic Freddy entries.
I worked on the remake and it was a 💩 show. I was in college and multiple students ended up quitting. They didn’t have main crew members weeks before shooting and people kept dropping out because they knew it would be a failure. It had so much potential but no one cared enough to do a good job :(
Frame-for-frame remake? Crushed in the reviews. Does something different? Crushed in the reviews. There’s no pleasing anyone. I’m on board with the 2010 remake being good. I enjoyed it a lot. Just treat it like a different film because it is.
1. Og 2. Dream warriors 3. Dream master 4. Freddy’s revenge 5. Remake 6. New nightmare 7. Dream child 8. Freddy’s dead Out of the stand-alone films that how I’d rank them. I was never a fan of new nightmare, I think the remake gets way too much hate, and Freddy vs Jason if I added it to the list would be behind dream warriors.
Dude I don't think you get New Nightmare. He's not supposed to be "Burns Freddy" He's transcended an actual being or person or even character. He's become something more. Thats the whole point of the movie. If you see Robert turn up in the Freddy make up earlier at the TV station. It's the old school Freddy. This isn't. This is a demon, that has taken the form of Krueger.
I lowkey like the remake. I like how mean spirited Freddy Krueger is. It seperates him well from the funny original Krueger. Also the pharmacy scene with Nancy where she is micro-napping is such an incredible scene! One of the coolest scenes in the franchise, if only the rest of the movie was nearly as good
I’ll pass on the second film. Feels like they broke to many Freddy rules with him just hanging out in the real world or manipulating things outside of dreams. It’s near the bottom of the list for me.
Thank you for not shifting all over the remake. Every single person on TH-cam does. If we don't try new things we would never know what works. Plus I kinda love the super dark and depressing story of the remake.
Funnily enough your top 4 and my top 4 are the same. Freddy Vs. Jason is a bit underrated. I can understand being mad Kane Hodder didn't get to come back but Robert was top notch and definitely way better than he was in Parts 4, 5, and 6.
Is Rotten Tomatoes full of sh*t when it comes to the Elm Street franchise?
They usually are 🤣🤣🤣

@unrealtalks7242 you're right. Rewatched it last week. Though, it does lack nightmares. It's more sleep walking on elm street but not bad at all.

The dream sequences in a new nightmare movie could be insane with modern technology!
Idk if you've seen them but could you do the Leprechaun Franchise? I love those films for all the wrong reasons lmao
Leprechaun would be fun as hell to make a video on right around St Pattys day ☘️
You actually like the remake? Come on man, I can't take you seriously now. It was utterly appalling on every conceivable level.
Fun kills, decent acting, fun dream sequences, come on 😊
Could you do Rob zombie films based on rotten tomato scores
Freddy Krueger needs a Versus Movie against Michael Myers... Halloween Ends shouts for Freddy vs Michael or Freddy Krueger vs Lorey Strode vs Michael Myers... The only 2 Titles to use would be perfect which are 👇
A Nightmare On HaddonField Street 💯
&
Halloween A Nightmare on HaddonField Street💯 (Freddy Brings Michael Myers Back)
Both of them Titles Makes Sense because Michael Myers Spreaded Enough Fear to Summon Freddy Krueger into the Town of HaddonField...
Freddy vs Lorey vs Michael
A Nightmare On HaddonField Street 💯
Are you on something? 💀
@@the_Arkham_Batman Wtf type of Obvious Question is that? Don't ever Read My Comment and ask Me no Dumb A** Question like that.. asking Me if I'm on something when we All Are.
9. Freddy's Dead (1/10, it is unrelentingly, bafflingly awful)
8. Nightmare 2 (3/10, I appreciate the gay subtext, but completely ignoring Craven's lore is disrespectful, and Freddy being defeated by the power of love is unintentionally hilarious.)
7. Remake (4/10, Haley is good with what they gave him, but the dreams are very uncreative, the CGI is atrocious, and making Freddy explicitly a p*do was a horrible decision.)
6. Nightmare 4 (5/10, it is a good music video, but definitely not a horror movie at all)
5. Nightmare 5 (5/10, my reason for placing it this high involves delving into a politically loaded topic I am not getting into on TH-cam)
4. Freddy vs Jason (6/10, despite bad teen performances and some filler, it gives you exactly what it promises)
3. Nightmare 3 (8/10, for all the reasons you gave)
2. New Nightmare (8/10, the smartest script, the best acting, and dark in the right ways)
1. The OG (9/10, do I even need to explain?)
I absolutely LOVE New Nightmare. It’s my favorite out of them all.
I hated New Nightmare. I was very surprised to see it had fans.
Like most horror movies the first is good the rest are mid to terrible
The remake is an abomination
😂😂
Can't believe it's over 20 years old
Seriously, 20 years is crazy. We are getting old my friend.
@@MadBloodMatt You ain't kidding. You want depressing, think of Dazed and Confused being over 30 years old.
1. Freddy’s revenge (scariest Freddy, “yeah she’s female and u want to sleep with me”)
2. Dream master(watch the most and love the music)
3. Dream warriors (great kills, music, great characters)
4. Freddy vs Jason (best of both worlds,Freddy back scary less goofy)
5. Original( the birth of Freddy)
6. Freddy’s dead( enjoy some the goofiness + “map says we’re f*cked🤣
7. Dream child( only 3 kills, Jacob was popped asl wasn’t worth keeping, good scenery tho
8. Remake(micro naps, darker, but don’t like the Freddy could be innocent or cgi)
9. New nightmare( just a hanstel & Gretel story with Freddy recreating kills from previous movies but I do like real life concept)
Hell yeah, great to see Freddy’s Revenge getting some love. Such an underrated movie. Thanks for sharing your list and what you like and don’t like 🔥
We need one with the scream franchise
Loved hearing your thoughts. I personally love 4 and the ending with Freddy getting torn apart. I know the reflection thing is weird, but I write it off that it's actually Alice's belief in it that makes it work.
4’s ending does have some fun moments, I agree. Thanks for watching the video.
Wow, the remake better than New Nightmare, wth.
I think you only like part 2 because it's gay. There's nothing to like about it.
What kind of weird take is that lol despite the homoerotic stuff, part 2 has pretty good gore effects and Freddy is actually menacing compared to the sequels plus the story isn't that bad
3 is the best! It's the most re-watchable
Saw the og on VHS when I was 8 absolutely loved it and wasn't frightened to go to sleep 😴
Great video as always 😊🐾💜👍👋
I just found this channel about a week ago and I gotta say you make really good stuff! Hope to see you at 100k subscribers. I love Freddy Krueger, but because he's so overpowered the way they beat him in every movie feels very anticlimactic to me. I'd love to see someone write a movie with a really solid way to beat Freddy and then write the rest of the script around that
I've enjoyed your videos the last few days. Watched the Friday the 13th, TCM and halloween ones. It's been a delight.
The remake is awful and Freddy’s dead is awful but the rest I really like all of them
Favorite elm street movie?
Just remember kids...Freddy Krueger was the first one to kill Captain Jack Sparrow. Also, the behind the scenes were great. The young actors,it was their first movie and they all got along. They had fun filming.Robert Englund was doing the method acting thing, and he didn't really socialize with the other actors, but hes a kind, nice down to earth person.
9. Remake
8. Dream Child
7. FvJ
6. Freddy's Dead
5. New Nightmare
4. Dream Master
3. Dream Warriors
2. Freddy's Revenge
1. Original
I would actually watch 2010 again. Which is more than I can say for Freddy’s Dead or New Nightmare.
New Nightmare?!
I love all the NOES films, SAW films, Conjuring films, Predator and Alien films, Little NIghtmares 1, 2, and 3, and Friday the 13th films...
1. A Nightmare On Elm Street
2. Freddys Revenge
3. Dream Warriors
4. The Dream Child
5. The Dream Master
6. Remake
7. Freddy v Jason
8. A New Nightmare
9. Final Nightmare (I have no memory of this film, though I used to own it)
My Ranking
1. 3 Dream Warriors
2. Nightmare On Elm Street 1984
3. Freddy V Jason
4. New Nightmare
5. Freddy's revenge (Underrated IMO)
6. Part 4 Dream Master
7. Part 5 Dream child (Also under rated)
Included Review from 2003 by some random dude:
"Despite lame sequels the original is a classic of modrer horror." ....
Not Included Review from 1984 by NYT:
"It puts more emphasis on bizarre special effects, which aren't at all bad."
For me
1. NE 4 Dream Master
2. NE 1
3. NE New Nightmare
4. NE 3 Dream Warrior
5. F vs J
6. NES 2010
7. NES 2 Freddy's Revenge
8. NES 5 Dream Child
9. Freddys Dead
Sigh. I had trouble with this. A lot of trouble. Some of these I ranked NOT on an A Nightmare On Elm St. movie but as something else.
1.) A Nightmare On Elm St.
2.) Dream Warriors.
3.) Freddy's Revenge
4.) Freddy's Dead ( This one might be against what almost everyone thinks, but I think of not as an A Nightmare On Elm St. film but as a horror comedy. Franchise film? It is terrible, but as a simple horror comedy I think it is pretty great.)
5.) Freddy Vs. Jason ( I don't like that early 2000s look. The blue tinge and everything, also Jason doesn't look great. However Freddy looks great and Robert England does great as usual. When it makes it to the end the VS. fight is great. The corn field fire scene was pretty nice idea. Freddy's plan backfiring and basically just have a temper tantrum was pretty fun.)
6.) A New Nightmare on Elm St. ( The idea is great, some of the acting is fine, some of it not. A lot of smaller great ideas. Even though it wasn't Freddy, the look of the creature posing of Freddy wasn't that great but props for trying a new look. Not all the references to the original looked the best. It was a pre-amble to a style that was done much better later on.)
7.) A Nightmare On Elm St. Remake. ( Jackie was just fine with his regards to playing Freddy. Other problems but that wasn't one of them. A few ideas I thought was horrible and some of the CGI as well. Writing could have been better.)
8.) Dream Master ( This goes for both Dream Master and Dream Child. Some great scenes, still looked great in the 80s style, however I always have trouble getting through them. The both feel a little bit more boring? Or something. Just trouble keeping invested through them. Ideas are great, look is great, some great scenes but over all a little tiring.)
9.) Dream Child ( A little more tiring more tiring than the previous.)
This was hard and some can be subject to change.
I actually like Part 4 more than 3.
Me too
Fun fact: Wes craven actually enjoyed part 4 over part 3 in some ways too surprisingly.
I agree with this 100 percent
Same here. Part 3 and Part 4 are pretty much tied as my favorite, but Part 4 just slightly edges it out for just having the most fun with the concept. I think freddy is hilarious in this movie while still being slightly sinister. I also love the creativity in it
Your high
1-dream warriors---Just perfect movie. its my top 3 favorite movies of all time
2-nightmare 1---not much can say its a classic very well done
3-new nightmare---was original and the reality and hollywood aspect too was so cool
4-dream master----extra points best horror soundtrack
5-freddys revenge----this movie scared me as a kid the opening bus scene freaked me out.
6-freddys dead----its just cheezy 90's fun
7-remake----it gets too much hate its compared too much to original. As a stand alone horror its a good flick
8-freddy vs jason---annoying characters and some stupid things like jason scared of water. Its a fun movie but not one I flock back to watch
9-dream child----even though some great kills the plot was so stupid.
Nightmare 3
Nightmare 1 (1984)
Nightmare 4
Freddy vs Jason
New Nightmare
Nightmare 2
Nightmare 5

Thanks for sharing your list. I knew I’d see a lot of folks putting 3 at #1
@@MadBloodMatt It's just so entertaining with the right blend of horror and comedy. Great video btw!

😂😂
A Nightmare on Elm Street is my favorite horror franchise despite its flaws. I love this franchise so much!!!! I’m glad to see you making a video about this franchise😌
Most critics don't like horror movies. Idk if they feel the acting is bad(sometimes it is) or the writing.

This is the correct order.
I'll bet you can't name 3 kills by freddy in jason vs freddy.
He kills 1 person
And possessed another
But freddy literally only gets 1 legit kill.
Dreams warriors for me is the best . I love the orginal but part 3 expanded the mythology, the kills are fantastic ( puppet walk / welcome to prime time bitch ) , the freddy snake ,the brilliant dokken song that gets you pumped .

Ik so many people love the original but for me its never really hit that hard like i feel like the intrest kinda falls off after johnny dep gets killed like its always been kinda ehh to me
Dream warriors has the best storyline and kills to me the most memorable forsure dream master for me as a kid was the scariest the music combined with the fact that all the characters seem the most seperated from the rest of the world in this one compared to the others like it feels like a high level of isolation where its like slowly everythings coming down to the final girl being completely alone freddys revenge probably one of the most unique to me alongside being extremely memorable and nostalgic for me growin up dream child was my favorite as a kid just cause of the story the kid basically turning into a mini freddy and the way freddy was killed it was like the first one that made me not as afraid of freddy and kinda start to like him as a villian in a way freddys dead i just like the storyline and the character who we believe is the main character his whole introduction and way of getting killed off was pretty wild then the video game scene to me was always kinda fun to me as a kid with johnny dep givin the commercial of the brain on drugs all that was just kinda funny and intresting and its just nostalgic to my child hood freddy vs jason just sticks with me mainly for the nostalgia big part of my childhood fun movie for sure i liked the reboot just not as much as any of the other movies and new nightmare i didnt like at all really it was okay but it just didnt even really feel like freddy at all and it just didnt do it for me now something to take into account is im a younger Freddy fan and i grew up watching all these movies as a little kid like from a toddler till probably about 4 and thats when Freddy started to be scary to me and i started to actually understand what i ment to be scared of something and then i didnt really start getting the courage to revisit the movies occasionally till about 6 then more frequently at around 10 then around mid to late teens is when i started watching the movies often enough to see em all in chronological order so my picks are in some ways tied to the level of nostalgia the movies have with me and then certain ones are just based on how good they are like dream warriors id and part 2 id probably seen as a really young kid but didnt really remember them because i was so young so those didnt stick with me till my late teens to early adult hood but are some of the best and dream master was like i said the first one that really really scared the shit outta me at around like 5 or 6 so yea i got my reasons
I thought Heather was Incredible In New Nightmare
Agree with rotten Tomatoes top 3. For me the 1rst , Dream Warriors, ans New Nightmare. Those are the ones that I really like. Could care less about the other ones in the franchise.
So this is the third one of these videos of yours I watched, and overall I really like them, but I think you should do the movies in release order rather then the order you do them, adds a bit of suspense, and that way you don't know where the last movie is ranked at. But that might just be me.
I think the way Freddy looks in remake. He looks more like a hairless cat than he does a burn victim
Know everybody go say part 1 yes I agree.but i feel dream warrior is 2nd favorite and dream master is 3rd favorite and new nightmare is last favorite 😉 👍
This is hands-down my favorite slasher franchise. However, definitely have a more unique and controversial ranking.
1. Dream Master
2. Dream Warriors
3. A Nightmare on Elm Street
4. Freddy’s Revenge
5. Freddy vs Jason
6. Freddy’s Dead
7. Dream Child
8. Remake
9. New Nightmare
While New Nightmare is well-made, I’m just bored to tears by it. It is half an hour too long, has barely any kills, and the ones we get are kinda lame, and there’s barely any Freddy in it. I’ve just never liked it.
I agree, new nightmare should’ve been 90 mins. Also, cool to see dream master getting some love. Thanks for sharing your list.
I got currently a Collection of all Movies. I am now by Part 3 and will see all. But a interesting List.
Elm St 2010 I fell asleep during it in theaters. I have never gone back to see it.
For me:
1. Part 3, Dream Warriors (Amazing chaos)
2. Part 4, The Dream Master
3. Part 1
4. Wes Craven’s New Nightmare
5. Part 2, Freddy’s revenge
6. Part 6, Freddy’s dead (I think it’s really funny and I appreciate it)
7. Freddy VS Jason
8. Remake (Jackie Earle Haley was actually really good and creepy)
9. Part 5, The Dream Child

Wow. I agree with the critics on 1-3 and 7-9. lol 4-6 though? Nah.
I worked on the remake and it was a 💩 show. I was in college and multiple students ended up quitting. They didn’t have main crew members weeks before shooting and people kept dropping out because they knew it would be a failure. It had so much potential but no one cared enough to do a good job :(
That’s too bad.
I don’t know a ton about the backstory but I still have a good time with it.
Frame-for-frame remake? Crushed in the reviews.
Does something different? Crushed in the reviews.
There’s no pleasing anyone. I’m on board with the 2010 remake being good. I enjoyed it a lot. Just treat it like a different film because it is.

Solid list. Thanks for sharing it
Dude I don't think you get New Nightmare.
He's not supposed to be "Burns Freddy"
He's transcended an actual being or person or even character.
He's become something more.
Thats the whole point of the movie.
If you see Robert turn up in the Freddy make up earlier at the TV station. It's the old school Freddy.
This isn't. This is a demon, that has taken the form of Krueger.
I get it, but I still don’t love it.
That’s cool as hell if you do though.
Just found my new favorite TH-cam channel
I lowkey like the remake. I like how mean spirited Freddy Krueger is. It seperates him well from the funny original Krueger.
Also the pharmacy scene with Nancy where she is micro-napping is such an incredible scene! One of the coolest scenes in the franchise, if only the rest of the movie was nearly as good
Hell yeah. Great hearing someone who doesn’t just regurgitate what everyone else says and will admit the remake has some great aspects to it.
I’ll pass on the second film. Feels like they broke to many Freddy rules with him just hanging out in the real world or manipulating things outside of dreams. It’s near the bottom of the list for me.
😢
Watch The Forgotten One (1989) with Terry O'Quinn and Mr. Frost with Jeff Goldblum!!!
Thanks for the recommendation. What genre is it?
the hate on remakes is so stupid either it's too much like the original or it strays away too much no in between
One of the best remakes out there is the Evil Dead 2013.
Thank you for not shifting all over the remake. Every single person on TH-cam does. If we don't try new things we would never know what works. Plus I kinda love the super dark and depressing story of the remake.
I don’t get the remake hate. It’s not THAT bad. I enjoy it way more than quite a few other horror movies the TH-cam community props up.
@MadBloodMatt have you ever seen the 80s movie slaughter house
You should do the Chucky movies next
Freddy vs Jason as 6 ?? Strongly disagree it’s in my top 3
I absolutely LOVE Part 2. It's my second favorite in the franchise, after the OG of course.
Hell yeah!
Funnily enough your top 4 and my top 4 are the same. Freddy Vs. Jason is a bit underrated. I can understand being mad Kane Hodder didn't get to come back but Robert was top notch and definitely way better than he was in Parts 4, 5, and 6.
Agreed. Freddy vs Jason was a nice return to dark sinister witty Freddy.
The remake is terrible but I still have the dvd for my horror collection
