This is so amazing! I’m entirely new to this, can you explain how you do when switching between colors, or when one role of roving is done and you need to start on a new one?
It IS a lot of work. I have friends who fell in love with the craft and have made several for themselves. Me, I did one and done! But, I love it, worth all the hard work. Once I got the hang of it anyway. After it was finished there is no washing etc, just put it on your horse and it'll last for years and years.
I got my wool from a local person who had bags of raw wool. Full of mice poo etc. It was gross. I took it to a person who cleans it and makes it into wool roving. The price was cheaper over buying it online, but, I didn't have a choice in colors. You can look online for wool roving. It's pretty expensive to make one either way you do it. :)
Hello, after making this video I finished the wool pad and updated this tutorial with some more video and pictures. Here is the link to that one: th-cam.com/video/SYUvTZBn9OU/w-d-xo.html

I see you do every second square in that row like you said , do you do every second row of squares ?
Yes. That's the reason also why I colored every other row with alternating colors as well so I didn't fall out of the line.
Wow, that is a lot of work, but VERY nice. Might try this someday. Do you then wash, press and bind the fibers? Nice video, thanks!

Where did you order your supplies from?
