2:14 yes the arrhythmic rhythm calls for a defibrillator but not a non-beating heart. Electric shocks don’t ‘reset’ the heart if it doesn’t beat. When there is no pulse you perform CPR and once you get a pulse (if you get a pulse at all) then you use a defibrillator to put the rhythm into a normal sinus rhythm or closer to it to keep the patient alive. Also the call “CLEAR” is to make sure every one around the patient has taken all contact off of the patient, this is done because if another person is in contact with the patient while the defibrillator goes off, it will either send electrical currents into the wrong person or it will disrupt the current and may not work at all.
Using a defibrillator is the medical equivalent of “have you turned it off and on again?”
and sometimes turning it back on doesn't even work :b
