Desk Lamp

Although this lamp ended up looking quite different from the original drawing, I'm very happy with the result. There is a big difference between a drawing and the actual object taking shape in front of you, so the arm gradually moved closer to the table, the counterweight disappeared and the base got a lot smaller. Bending the wood turned out to be a lot easier than I thought and the arm is strong and very light weight.
The arm and base are made from Jarrah and the column is made from aluminium. The locking lever was bought on ebay and the paint stripped off. Power is supplied with a standard 12 volt adaptor and the lamp is turned on/off with an inline switch.

I have another thought about the LED's. In my experience they are reliable only if given a heat sink to dissipate the heat, the inexpensive fixtures where the manufacturer tries to cuts costs are very short sighted.
I will duplicate your beautiful design but with a louver over the LED reminiscent of a vintage sports car air louver. Hope that helps!, Jim

What I saw in this video impressed me a lot.
- While designing the lamp is fabulous. The wood-metal combination is reminiscent of nautical furniture. Maybe because the polished aluminum looks like stainless steel and the armrest looks like a boat's keel.
The basis however was the piece that impressed me most. It is a fine artistic cut.
- In terms of finishing perfection, workspace organization, executive methodology, etc., I am a perfectionist, I am fascinated to see these things.
For all this, my sincere congratulations.
I am portuguese and civil engineer, I work in the construction of a dam in Angola. I'm 65 and I'm retiring this year.
This video gave me a great boost to dedicate myself, from now on, to my great passion which is bricollage.
