In the frozen wastes of Fenris, a tale unfolds, Leman Russ, the Wolf King, brave and bold, With his Space Wolves, fierce and true, Guardians of the Emperor, through and through. after goes verse in scandinavian that make why it sound so...
Space Wolves are not Icelanders in any literal sense. Space Wolves is a chapter within the fictional world of the Warhammer 40,000 universe. They are genetically modified super warriors, part of the Adeptus Astartes, also called Space Marines. However, Space Wolves have a strong cultural connection to Vikings and Norse mythology. Their home world, Fenris, is a harsh and barren planet reminiscent of a mythological version of Nordic and Icelandic landscapes. Their warfare, hierarchy and rituals also have influences from Norse culture, such as their focus on honour, wolves and runes. Thus, they have more of a thematic similarity to Nordic cultures, including Icelandic Vikings, rather than being directly connected to Iceland.
