    Parlo da Napoletano...e dico che PALERMO È BELLISSIMA, AUSTERA E SPETTACOLARE...io credo siano molto simili tra loro Napoli e Palermo...anche come persone❤️👑...sono calorose e piene di vita proprio come noi napoletani...VIVA PALERMO!!!

      Napoli è una città bellissima, ma molto sporca, i muri dei palazzi sono danneggiati da iscrizioni e pubblicità, i fili pendono tra le strade, a volte sembra di essere nei bassifondi di Rio De Janeiro. È molto triste vedere questo. Perché la tua architettura è fantastica. Non parlo bene l'italiano, scusa se non è chiaro

    « I can't describe in words the vaporous luminosity that floated around the coasts when we arrived in Palermo on a gorgeous afternoon. The purity of the contours, the softness of everything, the yielding exchange of colors, the harmonious unity of the sky with the sea and the sea with the earth... who saw them once, will possess them for life» (Johann Wolfgang von Goethe)

      Sicilian here: Sicily is part of Italy. Petty regionalism is pointless.

    • @luxio369
      @luxio369 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@Floral_Green If you mean that Sicily is part of the Italian Republic you are right. but Italy (aka Italian peninsula) as a geographical expression, it has a very specific meaning, including territories which are part of Croatia, Slovenia, and Switzerland, but not the islands. Then we can discuss on the political level but my consideration was exclusively on the historical and cultural level.

    • @animadverte
      @animadverte 3 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      @@luxio369 if you want to speak about "Italian peninsula" then say "Italian peninsula". On the historical and cultural level sSicily is in Italy as well. Historically because it was a part of the Kingdom of Italy since the beginning, and then of the Italian Republic. Culturally, because it is as Italian as any other region. And in any case "culture" is a too vague expression used mostly to express personal biases.
      As Jay says, claiming otherwise is just regionalism to feel special and exceptional in a cheap way.

    • @luxio369
      @luxio369 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@animadverte If you consider this topic as it can only be subjective, then the discussion is impossible to do. considering the interlocutor as suffering from personal biases is a low-level speaking technique. when you want to tackle a topic in a serious scientific way, it will be a different matter. greetings!

    What a change. when we were there in 1961-1962, there were few people on the streets most days and no one was on the streets after sunset. The doors were locked and those of us with US Navy shore patrol duty traveled with 6 Carabinieri in trucks or marched in groups of about eight to twelve. There were places where they were still recovering from WW2. The people were great to me and I have some good memories and we tried to help during those times as much as we could. We rebuilt an orphanage in Monreale, Italy (If I remember the city correctly). We repaired, cleaned, painted, wired the electrical, and more. There were a lot of good people. -wonderful memories.

    Settling differences is a very, very positive reinforcement we can define. Not even wether they have cloud thoughts .In a faraway country either intensifies homesick but then again we affirm and get from here all the reminders folks have given.

    I saw almost everywhere in lovely Italy, I live there in 1970 for 10+ years, it is my second Nation,
    Italians are the most civilized people in the world,
    I visited almost 70 different countries but Italy was #one in everything, but unfortunately when I visited last time, many things were changed by emigrants , they pea and... beside and on so historic, lovely, expensive, fantastic, unic, artistic..., buildings.
    This video is very complete and thanks to you. But where are so many Ciciliani. In this video, it looks like it is an abandoned city😢!!? Years back, you couldn't walk easily on the sidewalks without hitting the shoulder to others.
    Anyway, thanks for your nice video🌹🤞👏😘

    Why are so many of the beautiful fountains, churches, and statues in town now fenced off? People used to be drawn to such places to rest, to visit, to love, to play...to remain connected, subconsciously, to their ancestors, to their past, to their history. It is sad to see these beautiful marble gathering centers separated from their people.

    Piazza Bellini usually is filled with tourists, especially group tours. It's a blessing in disguise that the pandemic has brought much tranquility to the place and it is so enjoyable to have the chance to view it from your video. Grazia tante!

    Thank you this is my first time through Sisley. I have recently found out that I am 51% Sicilian and trying to locate the majority of my birth family. This is fascinating.

    So beautiful & so very magical, is Palermo, Sicily & the entirety of Sicily. I'm not directly Italian, but i do have some Italian ancestry & i do have some close relatives living in Italy. I so long to revisit, as i think Italy's a true gem,, from North to South, but i really love the South, it's gorgeous coastline & all of the islands of the South. Over the years, i'd always been told that i look very Southern European, yet, i never really gave much thought to this, as i had no idea. I grew up forming early friendships/relationships with Italian's & they always seemed to like me, or shall i say, love me! haha I always felt a sense of comfort & familiarity around Italian's & Southern Europeans in general. I felt back then, "I fit in, i'm @ home & i feel very welcome". I read with great interest, wonderful travel books regarding Italy. I learnt Italian, i watched my parents drinking Amaretto di Saronno & Limoncello. We bought Italian products, we ate plenty of good quality Italian dishes/foods & Mum made the best Tiramisu, plus other Italian desserts/cakes, we visited authentic Italian bakeries & watched the weekly tv show, Sotto le Stelle & the annual....San Remo Festival show, direct from Bella Italia!! Little did my family & i know back then, that come 2018/19, we'd come to find out, that we're all part Italian, Spanish & Greek, plus a whole lot more! We never knew, but our genes knew. Truly amazing & exciting news for us all & it really is, a small world indeed! My best wishes to all & may love and peace permeate our world, over hatred and evil. PeaceKalashi Kashmiri Euro girl
