Hey Thanks Jeff. I’ve been trying to think of a way to thank all you channel members. Giving you a chance to watch the video ad-free seemed like a simple thing to try. I’ll post this video, with advertisements for general viewers, in a few days.
Jeff, Thank you for suggesting that! Some of us non members still watch all the commercials, subscribe, watch video to the very end, hit like and comment to help our favorite utubers. I try to help as much as I can, any way possible. Appreciate your willingness to share with us.
It's so amazing to see such a beautiful verdant valley in the middle of the desert. Love the lemon-lime color of the early spring leaves, and the way you filmed it through the ocotillo.
Thanks for the great videos. I used to camp down at bullpen 20 years ago when it was legal. There are many really nice swimming holes up the creek. The Rim is open now. Forest rd. 300. Many great viewpoints and campspots from there.
Great episode and wonderful camera work. The views and panoramic movements gave a great overview of the scenic environment. Seemed like you had fun - always good to watch. 🍀🍻👍
I drove that in my ford econoline. Still by far the most treacherous road I've ever taken it down. Prolly a good Idea you walked it. There is a creek up the road a few miles you can camp along. I was just there a couple days ago :p
TY Scott for going that extra mile for us. Like you, I would have definitely opted to leave the van rather than slide down that slippery slope. I was hoping someone would have offered you a lift up the hill. The hidden Valley sounded and looked beautiful
Thanks Virginia. Actually I forgot to mention that the couple that gave me the citrus offered me a ride up the hill. But I declined since I was so sweaty and stinky!
Hi Scott! I feel ya with that heat and hike. It doesn’t take much to overheat. When it gets that hot. Here in Miami it will get that high or higher but the humidity is the real problem. That sure was a fantastic spot to at you hiked to. If only you could have driven to it. Hope you find your perfect spot soon where it’s still cool. Take care 😎✌🏼
Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I had driven 260 a few times without knowing this was there. I think I had seen signs for West Clear Creek, but from the road it just looked like more of the usual desert. I should research things more.
You’re welcome. Since West Clear Creek is so large, there are lots of other areas to access it. The dispersed camping area near Bull Pen is large and plentiful which was appealing to me.
You gotta be kidding me....I was just up at Bullpen outside of camp verde on Tuesday!! Timmy C Arizona p.s. You were soo close up the trail to the main swimming spot. Missed ya!
The view is beautiful and I could sleep to the sound of the creek. I understand why it’s just for day use. Unfortunately for me too much citrus will trigger my acid reflux. I’ve found an alternative with wheatgrass. It’s just a little hard to find when traveling.
Scenic and refreshing -- good stuff! Even the best stock street tires for a vehicle like yours leave a lot to be desired for use on dirt roads. If you're at all close to the end of your current set's life, it might be very well worth it to consider an upgrade to an AT product -- and even lesser or more affordable brands than the well-known BFG KO2s could give a significant safety increase. And you could pick up a little more ground clearance with a slightly bigger tire, since a higher load rated tire with more sidewall plies is less vulnerable and can even be used at lower pressures for increased traction and a smoother ride. Downside, besides the initial cost, is the heavier weight of these babies (with associated potential for steering component wear) and possible extra noise at highway speeds. And if you do choose to ""air down" frequently, there is the time and equipment needed to do that. But even if you choose to bypass such options, the peace of mind alone could justify the pocketbook pain.
Limited availability regarding tires for these vans. I know someone who swapped out different hubs to accommodate bigger off-road tires. The new tires give his van extra clearance but also rub the sidewalls when cornering sharp. I have essentially four new tires. So I’m hoping to not have to endure that expense for a little while.
@@StaticCamperVan I see what you mean . . . Looks like there's an 8 ply tire in size 195/75R16 that's 2.9 inches taller overall and with 20 mm less tread width (a good thing for a lower pressure use) that weighs about 7.5 pounds more than stock tires, but although there's more rubber inem, they still have highway style tread . .
Donno if this is a natural evolvement in getting older .... But, I find I'm not lovin' the solitary hike in an isolated area .... have been thinking about redefining the 'nomad' experience .... have never lived 'on the road' per se' so, nothing really to unlearn .... Just thinkin' .... 🙋🏻🌄☕
Those chemtrails in the sky are always horrible there. Every time I’m there I always get a sore throat. I don’t know what they are releasing in the sky but it’s never good. Great video though.
Next time, just dunk your shirt in the water and wring it out. Will be refreshing at least halfway up the mountain. Great place! Thanks for sharing.
That water was chilly!
Scott I am glad you where able to make this stop
This was an excellent video, I sure wouldn’t mine you putting this on your non member channel to help get more subscribers. Great job!

THE DESERT LOOKS SO PEACEFUL, BUT HOT!
That’s the truth!

What great scenery. I was drawn in by the thumbnail pic, beautiful Mr. Scott. Your phone, or camera has clear pictures. Ty.
Thanks. It’s an old iPhone.
Thank you !!
Thanks! You’ve shown a side of Arizona I didn’t know existed
You’re welcome. It appears there’s more to Arizona than many of us knew.

Look at all those chem trails
Crazy right, how do ppl not see it
What a gorgeous spot! Hope you recovered from that hike back in the heat and didn’t have any problems afterwards from being in that heat!
All went well. I enjoyed plenty of water and some air conditioning on the drive out.
thanks

Michelin CrossClimate2 would be my first choice next time tires are needed
Bad brakes? Thanks for the warning
Nice chilly video buddy but many things I don't know : what is moonshine and what is this fruit you eat at the end ?? I Neva see it...
Slices of Americana. Moonshine is homemade alcohol and the fruit is a kind of orange
Glad to see you’re In AZ. Any plans to stop in flagstaff?
I don’t really make plans. I just go where feels right
Beautiful! Never heard of Miniola. Is there a reason you don't wear a hat to help keep the sun off? 🤔
I only have toques for the cold. I find any type of hat makes me warmer

Is clear creek trail east or west of the 17? I thought on your map you were north of Pine and Strawberry?
The map shows the correct approximate location east of 17
