    When you talked about the mud, it was soooo funny! I wonder if people cut off the switch back sections by cutting through the fields?😎

    Wish they would renovate and open the over mountain shelter back up. It’s so iconic on the AT

    Yeah! You met my favorite Ent! This is my favorite favorite section. ❤ I repeated this section for years before deciding more recently to attempt the rest in section hiking. Right now I'm super loving your videos because you're showing off my favorite places!

    So good to see you guys at Roan. It’s so beautiful there. I hike there all the time. When you finish this and you will finish you need to come back when the Rhododendron and Flame Azaleas are blooming. It’s the most beautiful thing ever.

    I so enjoy your videos! I must say you show so many good views of your hike. It makes me want to hike so much more. And love your honesty and true self. You made me laugh so much about the mud. I would so be cussing too. 😅 And tell Scout I am going to use his PB/Nutella/trail mix taco on my hikes… that is totally awesome!😊
    Happy Trails! 🥾✌🏻

    Omg, I bet Chief was doing the happy dance. Did he know before you contacted him? Thank you for taking the time to read that plaque. Some interesting history info. A great lunch spot and Scout made an awesome lunch. Love that tree. The walling talking tree was just taking a break. Lol. Be careful on that mud. Sorry, but I had to chuckle when you were cussing the mud. But not when you fell. 😢 keep trekking. 😀

    🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 I love that you just say what you think, I hate mud to. Here in Colorado as the snow melts we go from ice and snow to mud. I absolutely hate mud.

  • @ANJamesPhD
    @ANJamesPhD ปีที่แล้ว +1

    You know what you are doing hiking on ice, but be careful - especially as it begins to melt and gets a skim of water on top. Tree at 16:22 looks exactly like an Ent from LOTR. And you are right, the mud is worse than the ice. At least ice doesn't stick to your shoes.

    Does everyone from up North refer to all evergreen trees as Pines? First time I've noticed you calling trees pines that aren't but I have noticed several other thru hikers doing this. NC has a wealth of pine trees and several different species, but most of the evergreens at the upper elevations are fir and spruce, including those today in the Roan Highlands. Just curious.
    And I have to say, you cracked me up today fussin' about the mud! I laughed out loud a couple of times.

    • @chasingblazes2022
      @chasingblazes2022  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great point about the pines. I think it’s just habit because you’re right - they aren’t all pines. I think for me I lump them together. I love evergreens!!!

    Those views off Round Bald were fantastic. And to think of the historical footsteps you traveled in of those same revolutionary war soldiers who marched towards battle.
    Chief needs to make sure the pull string on his tent pole bag is tied off and not dangling about 😂 good thing you lollygag and take your time to enjoy the views along the way or he'd be sh*t outta luck with those!...
    And you totally sound like me if I was slip sliding in mud like that bustin my a$$ lol... *#^×*&%)!!@**#@$&]T hahahaà.
    Be careful and hike safe in that earth poop y'all!!!
