I also have to wait till it’s in Australia, I really want to get it. I love the Rockman Sound, mainly cause it’s used on Hysteria by Def Leppard, my favourite Album and I love Tom Scholz guitar playing.
The only knock I would presumably give it regards the control. If it only accepts a single tap for switching, cycling between 4 modes might become tedious. If it doesn't have it, it might be nice to be able to cycle the modes between clean or dirt rather than sequential cycling. Either way I will still be getting this pedal.
This is something I have already scribbled in numerous comments since MXR unveiled this pedal. If not for my personal request to approximate if not outright duplicate this town on my current multi effects unit, the Boss GX-100, I would definitely line up to purchase this pedal instead. Brian‘s demonstration brings something to light that others might have touched upon but that he was able to appropriately highlight, that the distortion channel is louder on this unit than on the original X1 00 from 40 years ago. I had one that I purchased off of eBay, and it really disappointed me how each of the two clean channels seemed to have stronger outputs than the distortion and edge ones. This model appears to take care of that shortcoming.
Perhaps they play out of tune so that it doesn't hit TH-cam's copyright infringement demonetization policy algorithms (if there is such a thing). Total speculation.
@ no of course not. Algorithms can’t spot music if it’s not original record from artist (or part of it, isolated track) Dude not playing a lick exactly is more because he can’t remember it or actually play it rather than copyright.
Unfortunately, when Dunlop took over the production of the Rockman products they just didn't get the sound right. Heard it had a lot to do with the chip(s) they used as they couldn't get the original type of chips Tom Scholz used in his early products. Glad Dunlop/MXR got this pedal sounding like it has been touched by the hand of Tom. This pedal is a clear winner!!!
@NO-TALK-GuitarPlugin i have nostalgia for the times when only Vermuram would charge 300 dollars for a pedal and it was considered the tip of the boutique iceberg LOL.
Sounds terrible. What made the Rockman great is how pristine and clear it is. The 'clean' channels here were overdriving. And no it was not that affordable. It was $130 in the 80s. I know, because I wanted one so bad but never could justify the spend
Ah yes because everyone wants to deal with computers and software editors and pedals with screens and menus you have to dive into. It sounds like you’re very unfamiliar with what MXR does.
Only thing he needs now is a tuner.
My thoughts
Definitely 😂
The strings were knocked out of tune by the gravitational pull of his beard
Tom Scholz's tone is a goddamn 10/10 dude. Now I have to wait like a week for this thing to come to Australia LMAO

Mine arrives tomorrow!
I got the first one in 1982 for Christmas. I plug it in my Peavy Backstage and pure bliss !!!
Great tones from that little thing. Very cool
i love these videos so much! theyre so fun to watch!
I love the vibe of this pedal!
Still have my original Rockman XP 100 Stereo amp that I purchased in the late 80s. Incredible tone!
Nice! Really Diggin this! 🤘👽🎸
I'm sold Im getting one!
Blokes are both legends 🎉
What was the song directly after 'More Than A Feeling' demo?👀👀
Found it - Def Leppard - Foolin' for anyone who's curious!
Still have my SRD amp , and still love it
Just play More Than A Feeling and it'll sell itself.
Or the “violins” between “Can’tcha Say/Still In Love” and “Hollyann” from the Third Stage album.
LOL. I just saw John Bollinger literally just played More Than A Feeling in his Premier Guitar review - a much better demo in my humble opinion.

What external foot switch are you using?
Dear Bryan Kehoe. My old friend from M.I.R.V

Is this a headphone amp like the original or just a straight pedal for your board?
Pedal for your board.😁
TUNE that guitar and put that damn switch on the side not inside!!!!

@@NO-TALK-GuitarPlugin 2/3rds of the video he actually comments to his guitar being out of tune👍
@@ByeByeJoe... and proceeded to not tune it lol
kehoe! Guitar god, gear expert. Ray of sunshine.
on order
Dagan !
Waiting for the mail..most likely mon.the 27th...can't wait.

1:29 well now it is expensive. 300€? Really??
It’s about nostalgia, you pay for it. But it will rapidly go back to 220€ I think

Early MXR Rockmans are Horrible . This sounds GREAT ! The Original is what I use into Two DSL 100's Bliss !
Sorry but this sounds awful. The guy doesn’t even know how to dial in a clean tone.
The second demo out of tune. Jeez.
Wow! Enthusiasm and no sense of irony or embarrassment while you hype the return to the bad old days! Wooooo!
Little pricey, tbh, have to try it myself and see if its worth it.
Yeah it’s for a young gun.
Too bad his guitar is out of tune.... otherwise, I have been waiting for this...
They have owned it since the 90s and never made one that was any good, this one sounds good but don't sound like x100
Histaria

🤷♂️ guitar out of tune?
300 quid for od/chorus you can't adjust? Surely some kind of TC toneprint style editor would have been useful plus cabinet IRs. They're having a laugh
